Nope. There is a significant chance that the chips were never “stolen” and were instead auctioned off for one of several reasons. If I came to the chips in that way, then I do not feel liable for any ‘restitution.’

if I find a cheap set of New Sonny's at a pawn shop tomorrow, you can be sure I'm not going to be asking @ChipEnvy if he has a receipt for the original purchase or if he declared the correct amount on a customs form, etc., etc.

How can you afford to buy auctioned items if you cant speak English when it's the 2nd language in Israel, a rich guy who dont know English? The guy knows how to use a computer/cell phone to communicate with a potential buyer and yet dont speak English....Hmmmmm

Davin sold most of the chips that he actually received. Is there proof that these were not some of the boxes he already sold?

Has there been any confirmation that the green sharpie marks were made by Davin's seller? It is entirely plausible these marks were done at the casino. This has been brought up already... I've not seen an answer.
 
Lets for the moment assume these chips are the "missing" chips. (I also think it passes the Duck Test for that)

The Customs and USPS systems currently show the item as "processed through facility" and then simply "missing".
If the Customs and/or USPS had auctioned these off as unclaimed freight, wouldn't that status be in the systems record of the item?
 
My kid had his bike stolen. Literally watched the kid ride off on it. Same kid riding in circles in a parking lot when the cops showed up. I couldn't prove it was my bike. I didn't have a receipt or a serial number. Thief got to keep the bike.

I know this isn't relevant but I wanted to share. Take a picture of your kids bike serial numbers!

You witnessed him stealing the bike? What this a real incident? It’s BS if the police were involved. I’d go to someone’s supervisor if a beat cop told me that even though I witnessed a person, who I could 100% positively ID, taking a bike from my front yard, that I could attest was purchased BY me, and later found that kid riding that same bike, and the cops couldn’t do anything? How about contacting the juv thief’s parents.. “your son was contacted riding a bike that Mr Craig here asserts he observed him stealing from his front yard. IS this your sons bike?” The cops did you wrong if that’s real..

Edit.. or just steal the bike back... they obv do t have a receipt for it...and it’s your word against his, right? Possession is apparently 9/10 of the law..

100% no shit. Cop said if I had no proof and it was a "he said/she said" case. Thief's parents said it was his bike, they bought it. I said it was my kids bike and I watched him ride off on it. Cop basically told me my only recourse was to steal it back.
 
To clarify everything I did not once ever demand a single dollar from @luv2breformed , never did accuse him of stealing them, never did demand him send me the chips or ask for the chips sent back, the pole that you voted may indicate that scenario but never did I pressure him or ask of. Can this thread be ended?

Well, if the thief’s parents are that big of POS, to lie about the bike, I can see where the cop might have been in a pickle... legally. But ya, steal that shit back.. then park it in your front lawn for a couple days with a loosened headset (where the handlebars don’t actually turn the front wheel). Or the adjust rear wheel just about to fall out of he dropouts... what a PoS.

Sorry ! Saw that “joke” a few times after the weeks of major accusations came out... first time I saw I did not find it funny either. Will say I will honestly be sad for days if that ever was true. Hanks and his lost gloves are some of my favorite things.
 
Just my opinion, but I’m not a fan of locking threads. Just think of the information we would not have seen if this was locked early on. I know I learned some things that definitely cemented who I want to buy chips from. If you don’t like this thread, don’t read it. Seems pretty simple to me.
