I can't say I wasn't warned. Several of you have invited me "down the rabbit hole"... I can see how someone could spend a fortune on this hobby!

So, I don't have money for full customs at the moment... but now that you all have introduced me to CPC I've been obsessively playing with the design tool. It's so addictive!

Anyway, Here's a fairly traditional cash set idea. Any feedback is welcome. Again, I'm not anywhere near ordering. Just playing around.

All I know is that for a newer member, this is a really simple/classy lineup that is going to get you excellent bang for your buck based on the level pricing. It looks really nice and is better than most public mock-ups I've seen. Do you have a CPC color sample? Not saying you need one based on this, but it could help you change things a little more to your liking.

I'm a sucker for arc yellow, especially on a black chip, if you want to give that a whirl on the hundo. Maybe try a purple shade on the frac to go with the pink. I do strongly recommend getting a color sample though; it's a necessity before ordering.

I like the start of what you have here. That said, you have light blue spots on two different chips. I'd try to incorporate a little more yellow into your set overall.

Try DG Pink on the frac instead of retro lavender as you have it. Not enough contrast between the lavender and red, IMO.

My two cents so far for what very little it's worth (hint, it's worth less than two cents)

Very classy, good looking set! I’ll echo the ”get samples” mantra and also, let it take time. Most that have gone through the process changed and tweaked colors and spots a lot before ending up with the final cut

Your first approach is quite awesome and classy!
My first designs didn't look anything like that.

I started out with designing a lvl 3-5 set to save on costs only to be now on a lvl 8 on my workhorse chip...

It is addicting for sure.
Here is a fraction of my CPC saves list...

Nothing's been ordered yet but it is my next project for sure. Gotta start saving up.

Oh yeah, before I forget:

It’s a good thing you don’t have money for this. You won’t rush. Instead, you’ll iterate as your knowledge grows and tastes evolve. This is good. You’ll be happier when you pull the trigger down the road.

Get some more brightness in the base colours, and use bright edge spots against your dark bases.

If you are serious about this project, get yourself at least a CPC colour sample ASAP. The colours in your hand will look quite different than the colours on your screen. And take lots of time for your design - it is not uncommon for many of us to design over months to a year before committing to the order.

I LOVE the pink/grey color scheme on those 25c. I do agree with the others, the yellow on the hundos really pops and brightens up the chip from being too dark. Very clean set!

I don't know about injecting the yellow onto the $100. Just FYI used a similar color schema to your original mockup for my T100 in my tourney set - this is what those color spots look like on a black chip after they are actually made.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't do a green $20 chip. You're going to hear players say "Wait, I thought these were $25."

I'd do either a green $25, or a different color $20. I bet a blaze orange would look nice in this set.

ETA: I love love love that inlay. Big fan of dark, elegant designs.

Good point, I agree. A green 25 is really too standard to change

Thanks! The design was meant to be a place holder draft but I’m actually really happy with it too.

About the greenie… I actually made the chip with 25 in mind but when I imported the inlay I dragged in the wrong file and didn’t notice till after I exported. With that said, I like the idea of a 20 small stakes games since most guys will rebuy with $20 bills.

It all depends on your players, their frequency playing in casinos, the frequency of your game, and the stakes. If your players rarely play in casinos then they won’t have a strong association with green $25s. I host a cash game weekly so even the guys who play frequently in the casino still play frequently enough to know the green is a $20. Also if you are playing smaller stakes the $20 is just a value holder chip for the most part. There isn’t really much opportunity for confusion. If you are playing $1/$2 then you would probably want $25s but if you are playing .25/.25 or .25/.50 or anything less then people are buying in with $20s and I would prefer $20s.
