Peanuts-Fiiish-02.jpg
Not my pic, (wish i had that amount of 1's) What i have got is
1 x 61
5 x 257
10 x 113
25 x 110
50 x 20
100 x 6
500 x 8
Any advice appreciated
BGinGA where are you

Came here with full intentioned to offer advice, but that breakdown is going to be a challenge.

BG is probably in hiding...

This chip set breakdown poses a few problem for tournament play;

-The multitude of inefficient denoms (10,50) is going to cause a lot of unnecessary colouring up.

-The lack of higher denoms leaves no chips to colour up with.

-In order to get a tourney over within 4 hours using all denoms is going to require ridiculous jumps in blind levels or super quick levels.

I can put something together for you but it won’t be pretty.

if you can that would be good, i haven't a clue here

I'll give it a shot... but I don't think anyone will recommend using the 10s or 50s, so I won't either.

Up to 6 players with 150BB (T300) stacks:

10 x T1
13 x T5
9 x T25

If you need 8 starting stacks you're going to have to get creative:

4 stacks of:

10 x T1
13 x T5
9 x T25

and 4 stacks of:

5 x T1
14 x T5
9 x T25

My typical T1 base structure is as follows:

1/2
1/3
2/4
3/6
4/8
6/12
8/16
Color up T1s (needs 3 x T25s)
10/20
15/30
20/40
30/60
40/80
Color up T5s (needs 1 x T100 and 2 x T25s OR maybe better just to do 6 x T25s here?)
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300

8 players chips needed:

60 x T1
108 x T5
72 x T25 + 9 for color ups

With 8 players I'd suggest 10 minute levels for between 2-3 hours not counting breaks, or 15 minute levels for closer to 4 hours. There's room for 4 re-buys here if you wish, but it would likely add a bit of time to the tourney.

Since your set is really low on T1s for 8 players, I'm trying to come up with a creative blind structure that might work better?

1/1
1/2
2/5
Color up T1s
5/10
10/20
20/40
40/80
80/160
Color up T5s... lol
150/300

That's really funky, and big jumps, but pretty consistent I think. I've never tried something like this before. 15 minute levels here shouldn't ever get you very far past 2 hours total. 30 minute levels would be more like 4 hours (again, not counting breaks).

You could also start with T400 stacks if there will be no re-buys at all. Just add 4 x T25s or 1 x T100 per stack. Shouldn't add TOO much time to the game.

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks Frank, those set-ups look like the go....going to set up a few later and have a good look at it.
I'm a sucker for old school hot stamped solids and loved these the moment i saw them, the other half of this set is in France (i think), i knew they were going to be a challenge to get on the table proper...really appreciate what you've done mate (y)

Not a problem! Usually I'm too lazy and just wait for the experts to show up... lol

I remember when I bought my first set and wanted to use all the denominations because they looked really nice too. Trust me, it blows.

Okay here is my first swing (it’ll probably need tweaking)

Starting stacks T 1000
T1 x 5
T5 x 7
T10 x 6
T25 x 8
T50 x 2
T100 x 1 (use two of the left over T50s if needed)
T500 x 1

15 minute blind levels

6/12
8/16
10/20
12/24
Colour up 1s
15/30
20/40
25/50
30/60
Colour up 5s
40/80
50/100
60/120
80/160
Colour up 10s
100/200
125/250
150/300
200/400 expected tournament end

I’m sticking to the request in the OP so if there is anything you need to add I can tweak it.

If you need to speed it up I’d suggest decreasing the time between levels. If you want to add rebuys or add-ons, that’s a bit trickier and would require a whole different breakdown and structure. Just let me know if you need any changes and I’ll see what I can do.

One more note @FlushBlack

My typical T1 base structure is as follows:

1/2
1/3
2/4
3/6
4/8
6/12
8/16
Color up T1s (needs 3 x T25s)
10/20
15/30
20/40
30/60
40/80
Color up T5s (needs 1 x T100 and 2 x T25s OR maybe better just to do 6 x T25s here?)
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300

8 players chips needed:

60 x T1
108 x T5
72 x T25 + 9 for color ups

With 8 players and T300 stacks (2400 in play) I'd suggest 10 minute levels for between 2-3 2 hours not counting breaks, or 15 minute levels for closer to 4 3 hours. There's room for 4 re-buys here if you wish, but it would likely add a bit of time to the tourney.

1/1
1/2
2/5
Color up T1s
5/10
10/20
20/40
40/80
80/160
Color up T5s... lol
150/300

That's really funky, and big jumps, but pretty consistent I think. I've never tried something like this before. 15 minute levels here and T400 stacks (3200 in play) shouldn't ever get you very far past 2 hours total. 30 minute levels would be more like 4 hours (again, not counting breaks).

I like these time estimates better. Sure the game COULD go longer, but in my experience it's not very likely unless players keep folding. If you really need the game to end at a certain time, then just leave a bit of room for that possibility. Like @BeesKnees suggested, I'd think the game would end anytime when there are only 20 big blinds in play.

Shoot me a pm reminder and I'll take a look this afternoon.

1 x 61
5 x 257
10 x 113
25 x 110
50 x 20
100 x 6
500 x 8
Wow, tall order. Here's my best shot:

4-8 players, 4 hours

T500 stacks (125bb)
5 x T1
13 x T5
13 x T10
12 x T25
--------------
43 chips = T500

15-minute levels, avg 33% increases
lvl sb bb
L1 2 4
L2 3 6
L3 4 8
L4 5 10
L5 5 12
L6 8 16
remove T1 chips (requires 1x T50)
L7 10 20
L8 15 30
L9 20 40
L10 25 50
L11 30 60
L12 40 80
remove T5/T10 chips (requires 6x T100 and 2x T500)
L13 50 100
L14 75 150
L15 100 200 ***
L16 150 300
L17 200 400
L18 250 500

All seven chip denominations get into play, with up to 344 starting chips and 105 chips on the table at tournament end.

An 8-player event with 15-minute levells should last no longer than L15, or 3:45 plus two color-up breaks. You can also use this structure for 4 players with 17-minute blind levels (3:41 plus breaks), or 16-minute levels for 6 players (3:44 plus breaks).. Cut the blind level times in half for a 2-hour event, or use the structure below..

4-8 players, 2 hours

T1000 stacks (100bb)
15 x T5
13 x T25
2 x T50
1 x T500
--------------
31 chips = T1000

10-minute levels, avg 40% increases
lvl sb bb
L1 5 10
L2 5 15
L3 10 20
L4 15 30
L5 20 40
L6 30 60
L7 40 80
remove T5 chips (requires 6x T100)
L8 50 100
L9 75 150
L10 100 200
L11 150 300
L12 200 400 ***
L13 300 600
L14 400 800

An 8-player event with 10-minute levels should last no longer than L12, or 2:00 plus one color-up break. 6-player and 4-player events will typically last no longer than 1:50 and 1:40 (plus break). You can also double the blind level times (to 20-minutes) for events that last around 4 hours, or use 15-minute levels for 3-hour events.

Thnx BGinGA, thats a fair effort and the same with Frank and Beesknees, really appreciate what you guys have done, this is what i love about a site that helps the grasshopper who asks the hard questions to find a solution....and more than one (y)
