Agreed. On the US (TNT) broadcast, they were just commenting on how Skinner seems to be 'blind' to the possibility of a long cross-ice pass and is committing to a shot that might not even happen because the pass is the better play.
This first period is pure bullshit.

The funny thing is, the NHL uses a rating system to rank which officials get to work the Finals. That means these refs are apparently the best of the best…..

I suspect the officiating team realizes this could get nasty and pretty quickly. We saw it in a few flashes already this period. They might be trying to say, with the frequent calls so far, that they intend to try to keep a lid on things.

Rather close. Florida is loving this. Edmonton isn't playing their game (they haven't almost all of this game) and are provoking just enough to keep this up.

This might have been one of the worst hockey games I’ve ever watched in my entire life.
Florida owned the Oilers in every way possible tonight. Oilers need to get their heads back in the right place for game 4, or this thing is over.

Agreed 100%. I was a non-game not too terribly long into the second. I still had it up and was listening, but used that time to reply to an email and after the third period got going, I went over to my build station and started constructing LEGO.
I spectacular game four is essential for Edmonton, otherwise I fear you might see the cup awarded in person in game five, @cpac54.

It was said that all Edmonton has to do was split in Florida. That's still possible and all will be better. This thrashing counts the same as a close win.
Edmonton still looked good, especially on the PP (even if they didn't score), until it was clear the game was lost and they started getting taking dumb penalties.
Edmonton needs better goaltending out of Skinner. Can't give up 5 every game and hope to win.

Skinner isn't helping, but for Edmonton, spending as much time as they are in their own zone defending and being outshot (checks the TV) 18-7 in the first will never win a game or a series.
