Homer Donut Dealer Button (1 Viewer)

Just thinking out loud here ...

What if it were a two-piece dealer button? The top DB would be colored bright pink with sprinkles. The bottom DB would be a tan cake-color, and the rolling edge could have a wavy pink edge to match the top DB. Then maybe use a hole-saw (or large drill bit) to cut out the middle. Although, I'm not sure the hole is really necessary. It could be just part of the design.

And super-glue the two pieces together, obviously.
Cool idea! I wonder if there's a thin 60mm blank like the 47mm chips.
Wait! a 47mm thin pink chip on top of a 60mm brown donut chip.
MMMMM.....donuts.

If you use the “hole” as bleed and make it all black, you can color the inside raw edge with a black sharpie after you drill, so long as your bit is narrower than the bleed space. The BRpro blanks seem to take the sharpie ink really well

I had actually planned on extending that inner dark outline to be a full black field in the middle of the button, with a little printed crosshair to line up the drill press. :ROFLMAO:
Using a sharpie to color it in would be amazing.

Crosshairs? Are you trying to make this easy???

My word. I came to this forum to upgrade my dice chips. And now somehow I have discovered a sub-fetish for collecting dealer buttons. Oreo cookies, sports themes, various casinos, and now donuts.:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

My word indeed!
I made a post asking for opinions, and got nothing but new orders. :ROFLMAO:

Well, I made some!
I used the deep fryer over at @BR Pro Poker  :ROFLMAO:

I made a minimum order, so I only have 8 to offer.
I’ll reach out to the first people that expressed an interest in the thread and see if they still want one.
I’m sure I’ll make another order of these soon, but I’ll likely need to do small batches because making the hole is a slow process…it’s really brittle when the bit is coming through the other side. For the inside edge, I used a tan permanent marker (thanks to @Benjaminotaur for the idea)
Small orders mean I don’t get any discount, either. I’ll try to do these when I can!

In if you do more!

I used to drill through glass by first putting drywall tape on each side of it and then duct tape on top of the drywall tape. Something like that might help you in the drilling process

Thanks for the idea.
I'm using a drill press with a forstner bit, a fresh piece of wood underneath, and clamp on the button. It cuts through smoothly if I go slow...but the breakthrough on the back side always makes a cracking sound, even when it's just fine. I think it's the last scrap of the hole finishing off.
Scares me each time it does it, but the button has been just fine so far! :ROFLMAO:

Ceramic is the perfect description of this stuff. Hard and brittle.
