Home made clay poker chips (1 Viewer)

He has made a lot of progress. Lightweight at 8.7G but they sound legit. He has video on Facebook. Pretty damn impressive.
Can you share a link to his video? I found "Strasser Clay Chips" on Facebook but there's no content there, and I found what I think is the OP's Facebook page but I didn't see any relevant videos.

It’s his personal Facebook account posting the Casino Chip Collectors group and I didn’t think it was appropriate to link to that publicly.

I will PM it to you.

Probably because the PCF membership shit all over him in this thread, over nothing.
I wouldn’t say claiming someone’s else work as your own nothing, but yes PCF does tend to grab the pitchforks quickly.

edit: I also realize some people were piling on for different unnecessary reasons as well. Plus he owned up for it quickly which should have been the end of it.

+1 and I thought he did own up.

But the mold he initially created is also...how do you say it.....quite inspired.... If that changed, I wouldn't have any qualms (not that my acceptance means anything)

Actually now that I go back and read the thread I don’t see anything that disgusting. A couple of comments sure, but the pile on wasn’t anything like I remembered. And perhaps you had to see the Instagram posts to understand the context and where those comments came from. Those comments didn’t really have anything to do with what he posted here and more about what he posted on IG.

Oh and he did mention he was already planning on his own mold and said he talked to David about the use of H mold. Obviously the OP wasn’t trying to be malicious though imo

I had actually forgotten about that drama. When I saw his post on Facebook I was just really curious about the chips and the process and I thought it was the other PCFer who is currently documenting their journey to attempt this.

You're probably right. Sometimes my recollections of what happened in the past are worse than the reality. Maybe disappointing instead of disgusting. I'm not planning to go back and re-read, so I'll just leave it at that. I'm happy to see that @Strasser is making progress and I hope he comes back here and posts again soon.

Really hope to see some updates. Can someone DM me with link? Sucks that we can't follow his progress

You can search up his Name on Instagram and you will find him. He recently posted things including a „sound“ test. He is definitely making progress.

Hello everybody! :) I am alive... So I came here to "clean up the table". Yes, we are making progress and you can find some of it on our IG @strasserclay
The topic about the Mold... Ive been contacted and been told, that I rather be not using the Mold i've ordered from a coinmakers workshop in our country and have payed for it, because the firm using H-mold have "some paperwork". Actually the Mold is just Inspired by old chips and has got different dimensions than anything else (it even has got some special micro details as "watermarks").
I wanted to know how dangerous this could be... I really didn't want to get threatened or even sued because of a corona-lockdown project. So I called my friend an expert lawyer who happens to handle copywrights, brand and patents for the biggest toy plastic-brick maker in the world (yeahhh...that one :D ). He was able to help with a result, that I can use my mold for my designs. But I still won't. We decided to become an open workshop for some other chip lovers around Europe and we will send sample sets, even make small batches of customs if somebody will be interested. We will use this mold just for tests as a workshop tool, but there will be another one with STRASSER CLAY CHIPS engravement soon. Hopefully everybody will be okay with that in the future <3
The progress is still slow, but we are making it. Hope you'll like the final results. Regards, Michael.

Thanks for the update.
Regarding the new mold, PLEASE don’t use “Strasser Clay Chips” on it...as an owner of Paulson classics, I can tell you the “Paulson Chips” mold sees no love around here.

A small graphic, something generic, would see far more acclaim.

I’m curious what the main technical hurdles have been, and what remains to be sorted out.
Well I'll be basically repeating myself, but it has been hard all the way. We had to re-invite the whole process due to the lack of information out there. Nowadays it's more about tuning those steps, becoming more relaxed during the process and finally fill some boxes with actual chips :D
