This sounds like a lot of math. If it's a cash game why not get denominations that match your stakes? Or at the very least pick a factor that's easier for calculation than 3. Maybe do 10 cash for 100 in chips or 1000 in chips so it's easier to convert?

Anyway for 10 dollars I would suggest 0.05-0.05 or 0.05-0.10 blinds. If you are thinking 600 chips, then I think this is your breakdown:

100/200/200/100 of 0.05/0.25/1/5 that would give you a bank of 755. Or whatever denominations you can get that make for easy math.

This gives you 10 buy-ins of 10/18/5, plus 1 buy in of 0/20/5, and plenty of other buy-ins from the remaining singles and fives.

But yes, if it's cash, I would try and get matching denominations or at the very least, denominations that are a factor of 10 for easier calculation.

I host a fairly regular micro-stakes cash game.
I would recommend playing $0.10/$0.10 blinds with a $10 buy-in.

Get 600 chips. 400 x $0.10 , 160 x $1.00 , 40 x $5.00.
Give each player 50 x $0.10 , 5 x $1.00 .

It is hard to get chips with denominations for micro-stakes.
I use chips without denominations but it's not confusing at all.
I only have to explain to people that the red chips are $0.10 and the black chips are $1. $5 chips don't come in often.
Give someone 10 x $1 chips for a rebuy and tell them to make change with the available $0.10 chips on the table.
