Description

Vintage 1960s - 1970s $25 Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel Casino Chip.

This chip came from a Los Angeles estate I just liquidated for the family. The owner passed away 18 years ago. Him and his wife who owned a pharmacy, often visited Las Vegas from the 1950s through the 1970s and were world travelers. His wife recently passed. She was 99 years old. I have absolutely no experience with this area of collecting though I can say that this chip has no wear and is in possibly better than near mint condition! If anyone knows what year it was made, I'd love to know.

Please don't let my .99 cents opening bid fool you, I do know that this chip is worth at least a couple hundred dollars.

I’m very mistrustful of auction prices these days. I think there’s a lot of market manipulation in most equities markets.
I think that there are a few dealers and sellers that are massively, manipulating some auctions for later as comps
Even BIN setups to try and use later in private sales

Add the seller (who is looking at the ridiculous current bid), to the list of people thinking, “These chip people are nuts!”

My guide is old, but says "two known, one notched" for this chip. So we're talking about the Flamingo, an iconic Vegas casino, and the best condition chip of a certain issue of which only three may be known, with one notched/canceled. The sky is the limit on this chip. There are very wealthy collectors for whom the current price on this chip is pocket change, and they don't own this chip. No price up to $100,000 would have surprised me.

Was Paulson selling ceramic plaques with those? Or was that something people created on their own?
