Also, look into the Harvest Hosts app. It's a subscription based service that lets you find places (usually wineries, breweries, farms, etc.) that will allow you to boondock overnight while you are in transit between destinations. These places will let you park for free overnight but usually do not offer any hookups. It's typically accepted that the boondocker will at least buy something from the host (more booze).
We have used HH all across the country and have seen some really cool stuff and met some really cool people!! The overnight stop might end up being the most expensive "free" night stay you have....after buying a RV full of homemade ice cream and cheese...like we did 4 nights ago!!
