Choose my $1s and $25s!

Hi there, guys!

Looking for some advice/comments on a couple of choices I have for one of my to-be relabeled sets.

The base of the set is the Kelley's Nugget $5 chip. It's one of my favorite chips ever and I was lucky enough to scoop all the racks Mikko had of them a few years back. I love them. They are definitely not for everyone, specially the inlay. VERY old school, LOL! As usual, Radiant Red doesn't photograph well as it looses it's brightness, but based on the pictures, you can have an idea.

So, I have two options for the $1 chip and two options for the $25 chip. The $1 options are Aquarius $1s and the Fortune $1s, I have 3 racks of each, although I'm only showing 2 racks of the Aquarius (third rack was purchased after the picture was taken). For the $25s, the options are Terrible STJ Sec $25s and HS Cincy $25s. I have slept on those options for a long time and I can't make my mind up. Other suggestions are welcomed also. I rather stay away from White $1s though, so the options are definitely limited. For fracs, I'm probably gonna use the Aliantes $1s in the picture and for hundos, the Bremerton Lanes $100s (not pictured). All chips are mint.

I appreciated your thoughts guys!

Kelley's Nugget $5s different inlay design on each side. Very likely the other chips will be re-labeled using Kelley's inlays:

@ChaosRock, Absolutely love those Kelly's. One of my favorite chips ever as well. I planned on relabeling mine, but the inlay wore on me enough to where I decided I might do a Nugget set instead. Just awesome chips!

Here's the combo @flipupchipup . As @BGinGA would put it, also two peacocks. :p

The UB 1ks are lovely in a vacuum or with a different lineup, but any shade of pink next to those $5s is a real clash IMO

Yep, I think you're right. I liked the idea better than the picture. Although honestly, I do not mind those 418 Salmon spots on the Cincy $25s though. I think it pulls the set together actually. The issue with that chips for me is the 4V Dark Brown spots...

@RocAFella1 :

Maybe I'm moving a bit past the no-no, LOL!! Still kinda iffy I think, no? Three of the colors are within the same family between those two chips (and one the exact same color, White). Doable? I still think not...

Yea too bright, you and Dave are right.

These are my thoughts exactly. The brown spot doesn’t flow with the rest of the set.

Casino Cancun $25? Might be a little too plain with the 418 spots.

Voted Option 4. In a vacuum, I actually prefer the look for the Aquarius chips, but I think the Fortunes look better with this particular set, esp. with the Cincy 25s.

Once again: THANK YOU ALL for your help! I'll close down the poll later tonight.

The Fortunes will be my set's $1 chip! Awesome!

The $25s are still a toss up although the Terrible's are a hair in front. The difference is not wide enough for me to make the call yet.

I wonder what would the $25 choice of those who voted for the Aquarius be assuming the Fortunes are indeed the chosen $1.

I'll also create a WTS thread for those Aquarius. Beautiful chips and a great candidate for a frac in sets with White $1s.

Thanks again, guys!

P-

Wait, WHAT?? You didn’t say that the chip losing the vote would be sold!! I want to change my vote!! Those Aquarius are PERFECT for your set!!!!

thats a cool chip you have 2 chips would love to add to my display case

Reviving an old thread right here, lol!

So, as mentioned over a year ago, I decided to go with the Fortunes, which I love! Unfortunately, I can't decide for the life of me which $25 goes better with the set. Still between the two initial options, the Terrible's and the Cincys. I am heavily leaning towards the Cincys for two reason, one, it's a little busier than the Terrible's which imo, doesn't do justice to the Kelley's, and two, I like the Salmon spot bringing the set together. My concern: is it too close to the Fortune $1s? So, which one you guys like better with the set?

Also, I decided to run the Green through the whole set. I know, I'm usually not a fan of a stunt like that but in this particular set, it is really growing on me. I for sure have green on the 25¢ (quarter pie to be revealed), $1s, $5s and obviously the $25. So, because of that I need to find a suitable $100. All the options I have right now do not have Green in it. The only one which does is the Harbor Lights but the chip is too muted for the set for me.

Any recommendation for the hundos guys? Not a big deal as I can just use the two racks of $25s if nothing goes.

I’ll stand by my original statement
Think I like the Cinci $25 with the set.
I’ll also add the profile combination does work with the set as the v makes a 1/4 and the stick is 1/8. The 1 is a 414 pattern the 5 is a 4T18 and the 100 is a 6D18 (which makes it like an advanced 614 pattern). So the 25 brings together the 1/4 and 1/8 spots.

It’s great to see you posting about your chips Paulo! I’m no help at all but whatever you decide is going to be awesome with those 5’s. They made me seek out some radiant red chips, which I finally have in my possession!

I still prefer the Terrible’s here but honestly they both look great!
I like the Terribles better too... as a stand alone. But if using the Fortunes (a must, IMO), I think the edgespots of the Cincy mesh better. I think the bold spots just carry from chip to chip (the Fortune is bold because of the base color with light spots...but in stacks, they look great!).

I'm thinking the same, Eric.

Also, since the Fortunes and Kelleys (and the fracs btw) are vibrant, the earthy spots on the Terrible's clash a bit imo.

Agreed.

I like the continuity. The white spots on the Fortune carry to the white spot on the Kelly... Green spot on the Kelly carries to the green base of the Cincy...

Actually, what about Cincy with Lady Luck 818 hundos?

I was thinking about Lady Luck on the hundos...

The Lady Lucks arrived. They are pretty chips. I think they work better than the other racks of RHC hundos I have. Not perfectly, granted. As of right now, unless I find another alternative, that will be the rack on that spot. Here's a picture of one rack of each denoms, including the fracs, which I LOVE for this set:
