Thinking about taking advantage of the 4 free + 2 discounted night stay, but don't know anyone who's been here. If you have, was it worth the trip? Was their poker?

My family has been there twice (last trip was four years ago). I liked it a lot. They have a casino, but no poker. Multiple beaches, lots of restaurants, tons of pools to choose from, no rush to get seating in the mornings, etc. It might get a little busy when cruise ships are in port, but it is a huge place and definitely worth checking out. Waterslides are fantastic and the not so lazy river is tons of fun. A day trip into town to the rum distillery or the pirate museum can be fun, but there’s really no reason to leave once you get there unless you wanted to check out the area.

Drinks are little expensive, but if you bring your own backpack or soft sided cooler and bring liquor or buy liquor or beer upon arrival you can save a little on that expense.

They cater to all age groups from kiddie pools to adult only areas. I would go back anytime without hesitation.

We were there at the opening. Watched Larry Flynt play blackjack for mega shit tons of money. Oprah, Leonardo DiCaprio were there milling about the casino. I ate dinner at a table right next to Grace Jone's table. Huge Chiluly glass sculptures/lights everywhere. It was amazing. Fast forward to about 5 years ago...the property was a little tired. The waterpark and beach outside were still good, but the wow factor had worn off. They used to close the casino at 3 in the morning for a few hours to clean, so you had to go to bed :(

Went in 2019 and 2023. Baha Mar is a better option these days but Atlantis still fine. No poker, just casino. Resort has good beaches and water park and the wildlife is cool. Kids really enjoyed it.

Baha Mar looks awesome. Did they have poker? Outdoor gambling pavilion looks awesome too.

Back to the OP…Four nights would certainly be enough in my opinion and if you have kids, I think it’s an excellent option. Food and drinks r very expensive, water park is a lot of fun…depending on the tower some of the rooms are very dated, but you are there for the pool, beach, park and casino.

Spend a day at Baha Mar and report back. Def at the end of the trip bc that’s the newer resort.

We went last year and stayed in a premium suite in the timeshare section (Harborside) - that was convenient because we had a large space, separate bedroom for us parents, full kitchen (no oven) for most breakfasts and simple lunches and dinners for the kids, saves a few bucks. Small grocery store and a liquor store, a Dunks, and a few decent restaurants within walking distance. Required a shuttle to get to the main part though, but those come and go constantly so not a huge deal. Was an absolutely fantastic vacation overall - kids (10 & 12 at the time) had a blast. We decided to just give them free run of their room cards and buy whatever snacks/drinks they want and deal with it at the end. Despite the hugely conservative budget I had in mind for food and incidentals, we still managed to slightly exceed it lol.

This was our first time, but we have friends who go almost every year and we also did a lot of research, so I have plenty of tips if you have any specific questions.

Oh, and as everyone else has already said, there is no poker at all.

I went years ago. It was fun. The water slides were great. The sharks almost never end up in the water slides or bite kids. Almost never.

I got really drunk one night and may or may not have fed conch fritters to giant fish in one of the aquariums.

I recall everything being crazy expensive on the resort, and typical Caribbean quality.

One of my friends did the “dolphin experience”, and I still make fun of him for that. But only because he got a creepy picture of himself that looks likes he is fondling a dolphin, which I assert he was.

I also went there once on a work trip and there were about 30 of us partying on one of the floating docks in the man made lagoon. A life guard was circling the dock in his kayak and made the critical mistake of getting too close. Someone jumped out and tried to “board” his kayak, causing it to flip over. Turns out the “life guard” didn’t know how to swim and had to be rescued by the dock party people. All was well except for his phone which sank, but he was purchased a new one.

I also attended a party at the club in the casino that my group rented out. 24 people got kicked out. 7 in wheel chairs. About 5 of them got back in somehow. They said we were more out of control than the NBA.

Anyway, lots of degen memories of the Atlantis.

I’m thinking about taking my own kids there one day lol.

Went there in 2018 on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Definitely take advantage of the free nights, because rooms there start at $600+ a night and food is not included. If I recall correctly, there ARE two tables behind the sportsbook for poker but they rarely, if ever, run. The only time they actually host poker is during their WSOP Poker in Paradise event in December.
