Actually received my Shuffletech ST-1000 in the mail today and ran 4 decks of Desjgn cards through about a total of 20-30 times to test her out. Ordered a couple decks K through A and did 3 & 7 and both work but I'll probably do the 7 shuffles on game night. So far, so good. Should bring out some more of my casuals that hate shuffling and self dealing :)

Sounds like you need to have a game this weekend to break it in??? If so, I'd be willing to put my name on the list as a guinea pig, giving up my time to come help you out.

I wish I could. It's date night so that my wife can allow me to host at least once a month ;)

From my experience 7 seems to have more jams than 3. If you really want it shuffled that much run the 3 twice. If you give the cards a little bit of a wash while collecting them to put them in the machine that will help with the randomness that the 7 shuffle offers.

I really like having it more than I thought I would and I know my players love not hanging to shuffle now.

Enjoy!

I just cleaned mine for the first time since I bought it - I think 4 years ago. Of course COVID reduced its use for a while but now its back in swing.
It was jamming a bit - nothing we couldnt take care of and no damage to the cards, but I just cleaned the rollers with qtips & isopropyl alcohol and she's running like buttah. Easily one of the best things I've bought for my home game - we play at least twice as many hands than when people used to shuffle, and we used to shuffle a second deck behind. Now we always have a second deck in the ST1000!

glad to hear you like your Shuffletech ST-1000. Have you used since your post? How is it working and is it pretty quiet with the talking and music on? Not sure how much it is worth it for a home game based on the investment. Seems like a really good idea. No one likes shuffle behind and several regulars can't shuffle.

We've had 3 home games since the purchase. Sound isn't really noticeable with background noise going. Speeds our game up a bit, players love that they can just concentrate on playing without having to hand shuffle and deal. Definitely a solid investment for our game

Box showed up a little bit early - going to do a break-in game this Sunday.
We have 2 non-shufflers in the crew. One who can't due to an injury, and one who can't because they.....can't.
This should speed things up nicely.

Okay...
First question already.

For those who don't have this mounted in a table or cabinet:
Are you using in Flush Mount shuffle mode or using the tray. After some test runs, it seems like using the tray is more trouble than just loading/unloading from the top.

I am also using flush mount mode on a side cart. Covered on the bottom shelf at the moment. In the middle with a dust cover over it bottom shelf is just the right height for me to reach over and load

Great. I would love to hear your thoughts about it next week!
Shuffler was welcomed by all with commentary throughout the night:
"This is great!"
"We're getting a lot more hands in"
"Sounds like we're playing in a casino"
"It doesn't jam? That thing's the best"

The sound wasn't loud enough to be distracting and it definitely helped the game to keep moving.
We ran it from a side table with the flush mount setting.

I was worried about all the posts related to sound and jamming, but for now those fears were unfounded.

They’re great and make a big difference to your game. The whole night just goes a lot smoother and things tick along nicely.

I’ve had mine for a few years now and there’s no issues. Mine was second hand from eBay and only the 3 shuffle button works. I bought it from a magician!!! It came with a recommendation to use copags and that’s what I’ve done. It’s not jammed once and the noise isn’t bad enough to be a problem.

Hi, thanks for following up and sharing. That is great feedback. Seems like it is a great addition to the poker home game setup!! I've played in a home game with the ST-100 and that does jam occasionally but Copags aren't used. Sounds like you use Copags? Also, how many more hands a night do you think you get in? Thanks!

As much as I love the look and feel of the full bleed Trefl cards, the humidity of my garage and those cards didn't want to consistently shuffle through the machine as usual. We switched to the Desjgn and had no jamming issues the rest of the night.

We just used the Copag decks that came with the machine. Pretty much the same most recent Poker Size/Plastic decks from Copag.
I have many other setups, and coincidentally, I'm a plastic/poker size/jumbo index guy.
I haven't tried the others yet, but assume that Desjgn, Modiano, Da Vinci, etc, should also work.

Hard to say a specific number of additional hands, but suffice it to say, there was zero:
"Hey, are those shuffled?"
"Dude - you have to actually mix the deck..."
"Hey, can you please shuffle these"
"Who the hell shuffled this deck?"
"Are those shuffled?"
:p
