It is SO easy to regrip clubs, provided you have the right tools. A vice is a must.
If you have a vice, get a rubber Vice clamp for clubs (generally under $10)
To get the old grips off, get some hook blades for a utility knife, and it makes quick work of the grip:
Getting the residual tape off the club is the hardest part of the whole job.
Also, get some golf grip solvent or you can also use mineral spirits, and some double-sided masking tape. I have found GolfWorks as a great resource for everything golf equipment.
An alternative to using solvent to slide the grips on, if you happen to have an air compressor, you can shoot the grips on (and off, or adjust, etc) with just air. It’s crazy simple and ridiculously fast.
Now, if you are planning on a SuperStroke grip on a putter, have someone else do it. I have done a few and they are notoriously difficult. Nothing like taking a $30+ grip and having it go only half-way on the club…and not being able to take it off either. I never thought I would be totally out of breath putting a grip on a golf club!
