I'd argue that this "competition" isn't serious at any level. But I will also say that if a TP chip isn't among the finalists for many if not most categories, it would suggest the competition isn't serious.
Love this argument, and the insight behind it.I'd argue that this "competition" isn't serious a any level.
It's a ranking and rating by a group. Whatever the latest and newest thing in that group is likely to "win".
It's debating personal tastes. I, for one, am not a fan of 90% of the Tiger chips and haven't been from the start. They are clearly designed to attract the majority of PCF, but do nothing for me. I've been fortunate to use them at a meetup and that still hasn't changed my feelings. That said, I expect most of the categories, once the dust on this particular iteration of this exercise is over to contain Tiger chips. Kind of like they would have whatever the most recent NAGB was to do similarly.
Bear-claw spots will always rate highly here. It's almost required to be part of a PCF chip favorite. That and 8-color 8-spot chips on CPC customs.
I contributed my two options and I also don't expect them to make the final voting, much like the last time this exercise was run. It's not a big deal as in the end it doesn't really matter, but it is fun to see what folks post and think are well regarded at this moment.
