What’s up PCF! I’m Nate and I just recently dipped my toes into the world of decent poker chips (been playing for awhile but only with the infamous Dice Chips). Browsing forum has been an incredibly helpful resource so I thought I might as well join y’all crazy connoisseurs. This is really my first time joining a forum so please feel free to give any tips on navigating the site, your favorite threads, or just say hi. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

Welcome!

If you are on a mobile device you can use landscape to see signatures (turn the phone sideways), you'll find a few links that you can use in mine, don't miss the Glossary, also I would suggest reading the site FAQs.

Tell us more about you, do you plan to host a game? Of what you know right now, what do you like the most about poker chips? What base colors do you like for which denominations, was there a chip that you seen that you just absolutely love?

Hey Machine, thanks for the reply! Good advice as I primarily use mobile for social media and such. I did skim over the FAQ as well.

As for chips, I’ve just played home games with friends using dice chips most of my poker career. Made trips to Louisiana casinos in college and got my hands on genuine Paulson chips and I guess that’s where the interest began. Coming from Texas it is a bit “taboo” I guess but there’s just something about the beautiful vibrant colors and the atmosphere of winning “real” money (as opposed to small stakes home games).

Anyway, I recently made my first purchase of a decent set of chips. Got a ton of samples and ended up going with Apache Pharaohs as I love the classic 25¢ Blue / $1 White / $5 Red / $25 Green / $100 Black style and love the edge spot progression. So thankful for this forum and especially Hobbyphilic on YouTube or I may have ended up with some metal slugged chips that would’ve been replaced in a year or two. Hoping the Pharaohs will last me till I’m financially responsible enough to get a great set of Paulsons. Prices on them are just downright crazy it seems!

Welcome to the poker chip rabbit hole. This site is awesome!! Hope you have a blast.
Thanks! Just reading up on old forums and such has been a huge help. Glad this community exists and happy to get more involved.

Hey, welcome! Take your time and slowly get up to speed and don't rush trying to buy something that you may regret getting later, your wallet will thank ya :)

Hey taurenitis! Went with Apache Pharaohs after a few weeks of stalking the forum. Alittle antiquated (one of the first China Clays I believe) but they seemed to be the nicest in my price range and I love the edge spot progression. I will hopefully expand to Paulsons one day, beautiful colors and great feel, but man the prices are just too crazy for what I will use them for.

That's a great start! I'm new here myself, so you should take me too seriously. I'm from Europe myself and china clay prices are nearing 1 usd per chip anyways so I just decided to go with Paulsons.

Got most of my chips for 100-150 USD per rack excluding shipping. I know they won't lose value much AND I get to enjoy one of the better poker chips there are right now.

Sales on here are best way to get some Paulsons for a cheap. Be on a lookout!
