Hi all,
A quick hello from Belgium. This forum came up quite a few times in my going down the rabbit hole that seems to be poker chip research.
I'm a collector at heart, owning many many decks of playing cards. I've been playing poker for a good couple years now, and finally managed to gather a (very select) crowd to play the occasional home game.
My girlfriend being one of them, though I suspect she just joins the games to do me a favor. Either way, she won the first game we played... speaking of a confidence breaker.

Anyway, I recently went full these-dice-chips-are-nowhere-near-good-enough-anymore mode. I've been reading all about poker chips for the last two weeks straight and decided to just join this community. I'm already looking forward to building a collection that I'll be happy to almost never use. I'm thinking about going the clay way to start with, as I suspect I might be one of the few that maybe isn't super excited about ceramic chips, and to my understanding many of them are 14 grams, I think I might like the lighter ones better. But what do I know, I've never even touched another chip than the ABS ones. (There's some clay composite sets of the French betting site Winamax that I kinda like the look of, but I'm also eyeballing Majestics from Apache, but no clue where to find any of those, especially in Europe). All advice is welcome.

I'll be browsing through the threads and I might even chime in with some noob questions here and there!

Welcome from Brussels !
You have a ton of cool chips to discover !
Take your time and get samples to know what you like before ordering a set ;)

Hi and welcome fellow French speaker (I assume so ^^) ;)

It's indeed hard to get these Apache chips out of the US, someone here may be willing to help you export them though, as it was my case.

Thanks! I do speak French, but being from the Flemish part of Belgium, my mother tongue is Dutch :)
Might dig a bit deeper into the Apache chips in the future. Connecting to others on the forum feels a bit intimidating for now though

Welcome. If you stay alert on the forum you can get RCH paulsons for a good price. Some will go for about $1 each, usually closer to $1.75. You would be able to build a clay casino quality set for $1k or less. Good luck. Happy hunting. :)

Hello and welcome!

I'll have the opportunity for a cruise stop in Ghent next year. This got me thinking - if Van Eyck designed a poker chip inlay, what would it look like?

Welcome to PCF

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding getting chips to Belgium, I have been around the block
