Waiting List
Recently completed my first poker table, so I wanted to post a couple pictures from the construction and some of my thoughts.
Used two sheets of 1220x2440x19mm plywood. Started by marking up the wood, used a board with some holes drilled at 0cm, 48cm, 55cm, and 60cm to make sure I got the proper radius on all of them
Cut it all out with the jigsaw, lower rail took forever because of ancient blades, however the upper rail was quite quick after a trip to bunnings.
Glued and screwed the upper and lower rail. Wasn't perfect but after a bit of sanding they lined up a lot better. If I could redo this part I would make the lower rail thicker as sometimes cards slide under almost completely.
Foam on the playing surface.
SSC on the playing surface. SSC I bought felt rather cheap so I think that's something I will be spending a bit extra on in the future. Air stapler also made this a breeze
Rail foam glued on
Rail upholstered, at this stage I was very glad I had the air stapler.
All done!
Picture from a recent mixed games night.
Was great fun and I definitely learned a lot, its nowhere near perfect or as good as some of the tables I've seen here, however, it definitely beats playing on a dining room table. I messed up the rail vinyl during upholstery on one of the edges, but other than bugging me whenever I look at it, its not a huge deal.
Next time I'll probably do a round table with cupholders, but this one will do fine for now. Next step is some nicer chips.
