Really? I don't understand. Most of us are guys and we tend to shorten/make nicknames all the time. Honesty it means we like the person. Well I suppose if your user name was Hancock and you shorted it to, well, ah, you know, I could see how one might be upset. But whatever Tomster. Just trying to have fun here.

revealing that one actually takes offense at someone using a shortened version of their name is the quickest way to get called the most juvenile version of their name by everyone i know.

In large groups MJ will always catch my attention, whereas Mike may be completely ignored, unless you grew up with a bunch of friends named Mike and have developed the ability to indicate which Mike you are referring to though vocal inflection (it really is a skill).

In thinking about it more I've come to the conclusion that if "Red" is used more outside the context of ASM ruin then perhaps that's an overall positive result...

I too, am an Anthony. Although some people call me Tony, and some call me AJ. I'm fine with any of those, and have added my first name to my sig for ease of remembrance
