Chips would be nickels, quarters, $1, $2.50, and $5 in that order. I want to have bright, vibrant low denomination workhorse chips for low limit cash games with mediocre poker winnings that I usually host. Happy to hear everyone's thoughts :)

I'm also a talentless donk when it comes to designing logos. Have something in mind, but I feel like I'm at least a few months to a year away from making this project a reality anyway!

3 things:
- It's helpful to click the "Save as PNG" option, it'll create a better preview of all denoms at the same size
- There's a lot of blue across your middle 3 denoms, (blurple looks like dark blue in person) this could lead to dirty stacks or at least fairly boring non-contrast, try throwing in some yellows, grays or different shades of purple
- A $2.50 chip is relatively redundant, as the jump from $1 to $5 isn't that great

Good luck!

I tried that, but for some reason it wouldn't save to my hard drive from Firefox.

Either way, I kind of feel the same way about snappers. Maybe not needed, but wanted to see what it would look like with the rest of the set. If I were to pick, I'd eliminate the black chip from the set and make the original snapper a $5 with a different spot pattern.

Don't think that the blurple and imperial blue would make dirty stacks, but never know.

Has anyone bought the 44mm chips on the scroll mold? Thinking I may go this route instead.

All chips are solid colors with no edge spots.

Pink nickels (200)
DG Tiger quarters (200)
Peacock Blue dollars (150)
Blurple $5's (50)

Total bank: $460

If I do a custom design and pay the artwork fee, I can always add on to the set later on, correct? Think that I would want more dollars and quarters eventually, but buying any more than the initial 600 makes it cost prohibitive for me, at least initially.

I’ve actually just finished making a custom CPC Set. It’s fun to do. Your set is nice, but I agree on the color samples. I plan on doing the same before the order. Not to mention waiting on permission from Wifey.

I tried that, but for some reason it wouldn't save to my hard drive from Firefox.

Open the new window (“click here to view” on chip design tool), then right click anywhere on the image and either “save image as” and browse to folder of your choice , or “copy image “ and then paste into folder of your choice.

Get color samples. Try new things. Stare at it for weeks. Make little changes and sit on it for a few days. Eventually you'll hit a spot when you know they are done. Figure out a flow per chip, a color scheme, and find the subject driving the chips. It's a fun process, but the slower you take, the happier you'll be in the end.

Color samples are on the way via @RainmanTrail !

I definitely have time to play with the color schemes. If I go the 44mm route, I'm going to go with solids. Adding any kind of spot pattern is pretty cost prohibitive, and I can still make a really nice set with solid chips without edge spots.

Samples are in! I'm pretty sure I'm definitely going with dayglow pink dimes, dayglow tiger quarters, dayglow peacock dollars, but I'm not sure which green looks better for the $5's. What say everyone here?

I would do a Pink Dime, Green Quarter, Blue dollar, tiger fiver personally....

I'll think about it. I realllllllly want the tiger orange to be the workhorse chip though!

The dg pink and dg tiger chips will have dirty stacks
I could see it if I had a regulation size poker table (I don't). The pink and orange can look similar from afar, but the table I use is 5 x 3.5 feet  :ROFLMAO:

I would just have a hard time with the colors being so far from standard. I love oddball chips, but green fives would make me snap

The whole idea is that I'm going away from "standard" colors. Thought about a Cali yellow $5 but that would be too conventional :cool

The DG Tiger and DG Pink look almost the same in low light, even from a foot or two away. DG Arc Yellow (and to some extent DG Peach) have a bit more contrast with DG Pink, although the DG Tiger is truly a kick ass color. Depending on how many denoms you are building, I would choose only one of the above (DG Tiger), but if you need to choose two, DG Pink and DG Arc Yellow have the greatest contrast (IMO).

Black is a good contrast with all of the above, and the Bright White really shines as well. Retro Red could also work nicely with the other colors as well.

And DG Green over Light Green.

Hmm.

Maybe DG Peacock dimes, DG Tiger quarters, DG Green dollars, and black $5's? Just to tilt @Josh Kifer some more :p

I feel like the black would go nice against the bright blues, oranges, and greens, but it's been done to death in other sets. I really like the Retro Red sample that I have, but it's too traditional for a $5 chip  :ROFLMAO:

Then make the Retro Red a $1 chip, and mix and match the other colors (Tiger and Blue for fracs, Red $1, Black or Green for $5?)

BTW, have you thought about making the smallest frac a nickel rather than a dime? Still easy to use two nickels for 10c bets, but allows for 5c/10c blinds as well as 10c/25c blinds, and a barrel of nickels is an even trade for a $1 chip.

That's probably a better idea. We play 0.10/0.20 or 0.25 blinds usually. The $10 different in bank amount between nickels and dimes (assuming I get 200 chips) isn't that much of a dealbreaker in the long run. I'm thinking of running

200 nickels
200 quarters
150 dollars
50 $5

Essentially the $5's are going to be a color up chip just in case things get crazy in our $20 buy in game. I have my Jack cash set for the high stakes games if there are ever any.

Many here would tell you (I'm not one of them, don't know enough), to max out the smallest denom at 100, then go with two to three racks each of next two sizes. Search for "beginners guide to mapping out a cash game set". Very informative.

This is what I usually do with a $20 buy in starting stack for a 0.10/0.20 game:

25 nickels
25 quarters
5 50 cents (sue me, can substitute 10 more quarters if needed)
10 $1's

Lots of folks throw in quarters to ante up and take away a nickel because they run so low on nickels as it is. For a 5 to 7 handed game that I usually have, 100 nickels isn't close to enough. The quarters usually end up the workhorse chip for the set in this set up. Dollars basically are only used in big hands. High rollers we are, I know.

Basically, no more than 100 dollar chips see the felt in my game in a given night. I'll basically have the extra dollar chips on hand for re-buys.

Starting stack for my planned set probably looks something like

20 nickels
20 quarters
14 dollar chips

For a 6 handed game, I have enough nickels and quarters for 4 re-buys, which is about average for an average night, and plenty more dollar chips (66 by my math, enough for 4 re-buys and then a little more).
