Finally did some chip harvesting last night for .25s! (1 Viewer)

I was so excited I just had to share!

Thanks to all the knowledge and good people on this forum, me and the new wife finally decided to try to go harvest some chips for our home games. We got 60 25c chips! What was most surprising is how good of shape they are in. We are going to try to get a rack or 2 of .50s from 2 different casinos this week too. One for a forum member and the other for us.
Paging @JeepologyOffroad.. Park the truck out the back, hotstamps aplenty!

This was my instinct. Empty the place out while the chips are still fresh and harvesters haven't fully descended on it yet.

My second thought is that maybe it would be better to skim a smaller number over a larger period of time, perhaps curating a regular source of easy fracs.

But my third thought is that my first thought was right. The casino's not likely to keep paying $1+ per chip for fracs that barely get used and then disappear. May as well get getting while the getting's good.

You should be excited! Wow, that's great. Congratulations!

Hahah well now I feel bad. It’s a very small casino. We did play some table games and lost money (unintentionally) because the staff there was so nice, friendly, and family oriented. They most likely made money on us.

Honestly, we will probably only be going back there to play table games from here on out because they were just that great of people. That, they have a good selection of microbrew on tap, and are close to Fast Eddie’s!

This is crazy talk but I am willing to double your investment of $.25/chip up to $.50/chip for any harvesting for me.
I would even be willing to split the shipping costs. ;)
These chips are awesome. Thanks for sharing and nicely done.

C'mon now, I just paid $3 per Greektown frac. Unreal. Good for you!!! They are beautiful. Grab more with both hands until the door slams shut.
Oh wow. I know I’m new to the chip game, but I had no idea they were going for that much... I’m not sure if I will be able to get more 0.25s, but I’m relatively sure I can get .50s. I can’t speak to their condition though. I am already going to try to helping 2 people with racks of .50s, but if you agree to not resell or trade them off I am happy to try to help after I take care of us 3.

Hey @Anthony Martino, did they ever catch the guy that harvested your hubcaps at the Hard Rock?

The scratches are rack checks, a light/gentle scrape with a thin (not serrated knife) and a quick scrub with a magic eraser will take them right off. Be careful with the stamps, if you can keep your thumb over top the stamps so the magic eraser doesn't take off the foiling

cool that your card room has .25c stakes
the rooms here have been closed for a year, lowest I ever played was 1/2 and good luck getting your hands on the $1's. None of the chips would be worth bringing home.

I would seriously take 2 racks though, but I'll wait in line, no real rush for me

Not to derail, but they have the coupe leaving on camera with mismatched rims, but the tag or the car were stolen so they have no idea who did it and the case was listed as inactive because they don't have anyone to pursue.

So what you are saying, is that it would be wise for any "harvesters" to have phony plates on their vehicle.

I love these teachable moments!
