Was just looking at some of my chips today that were gifted to me at some point and didn’t see a thread dedicated to it.

Post your one or two gifted chips you got and who they were from (if you want to give a shout-out).

The amount of friends and truly genuine people I’ve meet in PCF keeps me coming to meetups :)

I’ll go first! Just a couple as I can’t include everything I’ve got. To many lol.

@Cliff hooked me up with some of his specialty customs (plus his dot chip!) after my Castaway Casino $8 chip gave him some run good ;)

Next up is this hot stamp West chip @JeepologyOffroad he hooked me up with at Angle Fire. Minty fresh and is always in my card capper rotation.

Last one for now is a special one. This was back when I was doing my 43mm collection and trying to get every unique chip I could get my hands on. Krish was showing new chips weekly at this point haha. He had over a rack of the Derby Gran $1000’s and I REALLY wanted just one. To my surprise @Windwalker said “send me your address” and a few days later a mint $1000 showed up. I only use two 43mm cappers and it is one of them.

Happy chipping!

Ryan

I don’t have a picture at hand but it has to be the Sundowner Snapper gifted to me by @John Conor .
A little bit of a backstory: I wasn’t able to get this particular single in a sale because another member bought a larger quantity and got priority over me (no hard feelings, I would have done the same if I was the seller ;)) and out of the blue comes @John Conor ,to whom I have never talked before, and asks me for my shipping adress…. Still super thankful.

Awesome thread Ryan!
I could probably thank many people on PCF for their generosity pertaining to many things over the years I’ve been a member here.
When it comes to chips, a few members come right to mind very quickly. @RivieraDanny gave me 3 of the chips that helped me complete my most sought after rack in this hobby.

Can’t thank Danny enough for his kindness and for being such a good friend.

Next person would be my longtime friend and poker buddy @Seeking Alpha Social Club. Kevin also gave me the last 6 chips that helped me complete my rack of Pick Hobson hondos, again, another long time project that I completed in the last year. Can’t thank you enough brother!

Gotta also give a mention to @FordPickup92 for surprising me with a couple of my favorite card cappers. Breezy picked me up these large crown “Matty’s Tropics” chips that are from the 1950s and she tipped me off to the highly sought after $25 when it popped up on eBay.

Thanks so much Breezy, I love these chips.

Many thanks to so many in the community, I could literally thank members all day for their kindness. :)

Cool idea for a thread. A lot of things get sold here, but a lot of things are also given to members just to pay it forward.

@BearMetal printed this for me(and the tolerances are amazing, the plaques fit like a glove) and it's still one of the coolest things I own for the hobby:

Cool thread! Just two examples of awesome local guys who I have met through poker that have become great friends. @WedgeRock is a fellow Polish Falcon and gifted me the sweet Casinos Poland frac and @Sprouty knows this is one of my all time favorite CPC chips and gifted me one even though his are in short supply.

I don't want to turn this in to a "who has the most PCF friends" thread, but I also don't want to omit those who have shown me generosity.

Of the ones within arms reach I do believe all but 4 chips in this display were gifted to me (bottom right corner was given to me by my wife).

@detroitdad
@Ronoh
@Sprouty
@Josh Kifer
@krafticus
@Rhodeman77
@Azcat
@EmptyPocs

...and these are in card cap rotation and not in the display:

@mike32

Not shown: @Marc Hedrick gifted me some chips. Off the top of my head, a ridiculously bright snapper from Fire Keepers and some Deadwood chips.

Banana!

@Saoliver - just wanna point out he has a better Treasure Trove collection then us. Thanks BRYAN.

Not to post a “/thread” post, but the most generous chipper, and it’s not even close, is @PAZ, who has sent valuable and coveted chip gifts to legions of members, new and old, known and unknown, for decades, with no expectation of reciprocity. Paul is just that kind of guy, a true mensch and friend.

Here’s just a tiny example of the unexpected and insanely generous packages I’ve received over the years:

B67C4495-6F25-4D13-95D5-490EF8AB89A6.jpeg

It took me years to find an appropriate way to repay his kindness—along the way I sent scotch. But finally I found a couple of exceedingly rare TRKs that PAZ didn’t yet have, and it was my pleasure to finally be able to pay his generosity back, rather than just forward.

And perhaps the best example of his kindness is the care package he sent to @links_slayer when he was recovering from cancer surgery. PAZ sent Links a box with like 30 or more individually wrapped premium chips, to be opened one per day. We all got to follow along as Josh opened his chips, and it was magical, and reinforced my belief that there are truly good people in the world.

Thanks, Paul. We need more guys like you.

While many! And I do mean freaking many members have sent me gifts looking for absolutely nothing in return... including multiple times the maker of this thread, my brother Ryan

He gave me what is still in my top 10 favorite chops ever... and no I'm not talking about the 8 spot (bad ass freaking chip!)
20220101_140226.jpg

It was this beautiful IHC Paris chip
20220626_140002.jpg

But the two most memorable gifts ever @Lil Tuna when he didn't even know us. Saw that I was interested in the Pick Hobson TRKs and sent me this
20190921_153845.jpg

For no reason at all other than he had a good run of luck finding chips and wanted to "pay it forward"

Also I have always been obsessed with the Pillage n Plunder chips by @Ronoh he was busy with life and hadn't logged in for a while. I sent a bunch of message asking if I could purchase even a single capper. The amazing @detroitdad caught wind, got my address from Tuna and sent me the 8 color wheel $100 out of his sample set. (Literally made me cry) shortly there after Fink logs in and sees my countless posts about his amazing chips, got my address from someone and without a response or ever even saying hi, this shows up one day
20200212_205807.jpg

The chip Bill sent me is in the capper on the right! (Damn my camera sucked back then or this photo didn't age very well!)

After it showed up Fink sent a huge apoloabout not responding because he didn't want to ruin the suprise!

My God @bluesman250 gave me by far the largest gift possibly ever from one chipper to another, @RainmanTrail , the master 40th birthday care package! @JMC9389 who always thinks of us when he builds a new set of CPCs and @sgago84 ... you know what you did Sam and thank you so much brother!

Trully amazing gifts over the years!

You guys are awesome!!

it will be hard to choose just a couple favs
but no one said "no side pRon of lost classics here" ;)

(but I do not plan to be awake long after dinner)

lol!
that 'thing' is: deeply marinated sirloin (not a shoe)
but the point was : " I do not plan to be awake long after dinner" (hence the pic's wide view & pRon to follow)
BTW: BBQ tonight was delicious.

Many chippers have been very good to me (incl. you) but I agree that @PAZ Paul is second to none... Beyond believe the things he did for other chippers And the community.

Ps. The Hal Fowler chip is my nr 1 capper, thanks again Sir

Love the thread!

I think I recived this chip around a year ago, along with some other chips I purchased. But I can’t remember who sent it. If you remember sending this to me please reach out, and I would like to thank you personally!

I have been gifted other singles and also barrels but this chip is something out of the ordinary.

Does anyone know the backstory of this chip?

@Cliff I am not much of a samples collector even though I have books of them
these are my favs and wish I had at least a picture of all of them
I do not deserve 2x those dot chips (no idea how that happened) (even if one is gloss inlay and the other textured)
I will send one back to you so you can gift to someone more deserving.

I have 9 of these (probably a 10th somewhere)
@toad94 (I think)
Would love to get hold of a green.
I will send you one if you want. However my recent experiance in sending 3 chips to Europe was is cost $15 to send and the recipient $30 to release from customs.
I would only try to send disguised in a letter if you want one.
