The last car I owned (over 20 years ago now) was a 1984 Saab 900. I loved that car, despite it being sorely underpowered. (When you turned the AC on, the car actually slowed down by at least 10-15%.)

I haven't owned a car in 20 years, but that is about to change come October. I'm buying my parents' well-kept 2007 VW Passat Wagon with 3.6L V6 and all-wheel drive, since they were planning to trade it in on a new car, and the trade-in value is far less than it's worth to me. As a NYC denizen, this is a big deal, although I'll only really use it to get out of the city on weekends and to trek up to Bergs' place for the circus games. It's an awesome all-around car: great engine, all wheel drive, plenty of space, German engineering and quality interior appointments, but in a not-too-big sedan-sized package. (I generally dislike SUVs.)

Anyway, what's been your favorite car you've owned over the years?

Have only had 2 cars in my life an old Citroen saxo and my 63plate fiesta, the fiesta is awesome and this will last me a good couple of years. What's even better is that's it's low emission so £0 tax.

Nothing fancy, but I really love my current truck. 2007 Honda Ridgeline. 89K. Fully loaded, AWD, runs like a dream. Drives like an SUV, versatility of a pickup. Even has a trunk under the pickup bed. Unique interior and you don't see them everywhere. I was sorry to see production of these stop, but I get the economics. Might buy one more in a year or two tho...

My current 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser..... bought it new 8 years ago and it still runs great. Not only is it not phased by the 8ft+ of snow we got last winter but it can easily haul a pinball machine :)

Enjoying my '14 FOST. Big enough for the kids and fam. I can fit my golf clubs. Small enough that I can get decent gas mileage and still get some hp.

I loved my Mustang 2004 GT. Too bad some girl on a cell phone thought I had a stop sign, and pulled out right in front of me (she was ok, our cars weren't).

Damn. Is that one really yours?

Not actually mine, but same type of fire common in VW buses - the even called it a Carbecue :(

My wife and I were moving to Louisiana where I was starting veterinary school. We had just gotten married and had loaded all our nice wedding presents - china, crystal, silverware - in the VW bus so they wouldn't get damaged in the U-haul. We got about 5 miles from home and the engine compartment simply caught on fire. We had no fire extinguisher and had to just sit there and watch it burn. I was able to grab a few boxes of stuff out of the VW before the heat got too intense. We still have some china with black charred edges as a reminder. The only good thing that came out of it is that all my clothes burned too - if not I would probably still be wearing some of them. ;)

Wow. Where is the unlike button?

My 1986 Maroon Ford Escort, complete with a red light/white strobe bar on top for when I was an on-call firefighter. The car of my youth, had a lot of great adventures in that little bastard.

My 2015 Nissan Rogue is my favourite car. That's only 'cause this is restricted to "cars". My favourite vehicle is my 2008 Kawasaki Versys. Love that bike.

2000 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 loaded. Best friggin' off road truck on the market then.

2002 for me. Only car I've bought new. The thing is a beast. I also loved my 1979 Nissan 280z, but who doesn't love the car they had in high school?

My 1979 Chevy van or the "sin bin" as some of the girls called it. My first new vehicle and I customized it myself. Also added a shift kit, sidepipes, and 50's all around. Had to install a lift kit so those big ass tires wouldn't rub on my fender flares. It had a 350 and 4-barrel carb. I could watch the gas gauge go down when I stomped on the gas. Of course gas was a bit cheaper back then.

Loved my 94 honda CRX Del Sol. The twin cam vtec version not the single cam crap.

This is hard -- I've owned over 50 cars, usually three or more at a time, because of involvement in racing and autocrossing.

But for street cars, it would be the only two I've ever owned for over ten years:

1) 1980 Triumph TR-8, red / tan, with four barrel Holley 390, manual steering rack, quick-release steering wheel, custom exhaust, beefed up brakes, beefy roll bar, MiniLite wheels, Recaros, 5-pt. belts.

2) 1995 Mazda Miata R-type (one of 1,500 made), black, removable hard top, quick-release steering wheel, Hard Dog Hard Core roll bar, Borla exhaust, American Racing wheels, short-shifter, 5-pt. belts.

Exclusively for the track, it would be my 1972 Elden Mark 10, 1.6 liter Ford, Hewland Mk.6 5-speed (with many gear choices), removable rear bodywork and radiator(s) for autocrossing.

All three had 13-ball shift knobs.

If I had to choose just one, it would probably be the Triumph.

And then there are the motorcycles...

I had a Honda civic for 14 years. I only sold it because it looked dated and it was a two door (I had kids and stuff). I then bought a new 2009 Honda Civic, but four door. Always a stick shift. I hate automatics.

I kinda wish I went a little more upscale with another car, but I hate depreciation in vehicles.

66 volvo truck. Had it in high school days and after. The rumor was it was a prototype volvo made, thinking about getting into the truck market. They made 4, but I don't think it was legit. Anyway, it was fun for awhile, but it started to need a lot of work. In hindsight, I would have kept it.

Lol had the same car but 1996, I think the final year they were made. Was my high school car and I miss it a lot.

My current car...'08 Pontiac G8 (V6). On the hunt for a GT in my price range. The other option is my first car, and '84 Buick Skylark. Giant piece of crap but oh the memories...

I've only had 5 cars in 27 years of driving. Ford Bronco II (blew the tranny); Ford Tempo AWD - yes, 4 wheel drive on a Ford Tempo (totaled it falling asleep at the wheel before mid-terms in college but walked away because lolimmortal), Honda Accord V6 (blew the tranny), and 2 Toyota 4Runners (a 1999 model and the tranny blew in 2007 after some shoddy repairs, and my current 2007 which is still running great, but I'm sure at some point the transmission will mushroom cloud).

I miss the Bronco II only because it was setup to roll over anything in it's path - curbs, steps, small families, etc. Also the Bronco II and Tempo were gifts from girlfriend's families. Accord was leased. I bought the 4Runners new and love 'em.

I think you have repressed your specific sexual desires to the point that they have been forced to come through in a driving style that incurs pun-heavy mechanical damage.
