Fat Tire Samples Order Thread - CLOSED (1 Viewer)

Thanks Ben and Dave :) If Trihonda quoted for Ben already, so be it. I'll pay the chips for Trihonda then and re-shipping for Ben, when the time comes.
You're awesome. Sometimes I think, should I finally move to the other side of the Pond. Nothing keeping me here currently. Except finnish women ;)

No problem Pasi. International shipping used to be a mammoth PITA before I moved to the middle of nowhere - now I drive by my (tiny) post office almost every day, and never any waiting. :D

Tennessee is also FULL of attractive and sweet young ladies who I'm sure would love to meet an "exotic" Finnish gentleman. And it's not as hot as GA in the summer. ;)

You clearly have never checked out the gals in Atlanta. One of many reasons I never moved back North. :)

and a quote from a local dating web site:
You don’t need statistical studies to know the ratio of women to men is out of freaking control. If you’re a single straight guy and you don’t live here, you’re an idiot.

In the interest of simplification, I propose that Ben simply pay for the extra set when he pays for his set via PP, then you immediately reimburse him the $11 + shipping.

You will have to send Ben a PP payment regardless, and Ben will have to send me a PP payment. This effectively reduces the transactions my PP account will receive, and eliminates you from having to make two payments to two different accounts. It also is one less person I have to track payments for, etc..

Same amount of money exchanges hands, just fewer transactions. Win!

I've yet to do one of these sample order things. I've read that so many transactions might tend to get your account flagged for review. Just trying to keep it simple.

:)

Fine by me.
@Ben Shipping from US to Finland should be somewhere around $7.10. If I ship you $21, that should cover it. If not, I'll ship you some more after you have shipped.
Let me have you paypal addy and I will ship the moniezz. Thanks.

I'm not sending out paypal requests until ALL designs are at 100%, and this a 100% go venture! I'm not wanting to risk having some minor change influence someone's decision/desire to participate, and then having to refund monies.

Once everything is 100%, I'll sent out payment info. The OP has the timeline, but in short, I'll be placing the order mid January, so I anticipate requiring all sample orders paid before the CPC order gets submitted. I will open it up for payment sometime early January.

I will NOT be ordering a ton of extras to do samples after the fact. I wanted to give enough notice of the impending samples offering, so that I didn't run into a large amount of people wanting to get samples after I'd already submitted the order.

Sounds good. No need to send payment until requested by Trihonda.

any chance I can get a second 100 chip?

Absolutely no problem. However, it'll be an extra $11... but it comes with free T25, T500, T1k, and T5k chips.

I'm trying to limit any customization or oddities in the order numbers. So if I get 20 sample sets ordered, I know my orig set number (plus my extras), and then I only need to add 20 to each denom. If I open up the floodgates of extra chips here and there, it's more challenging to keep track (at least for me). I'll know every denom should be exactly X number more to accommodate the samples.

Just let me know if you'd like a second sample set.

OK, button peeps. I've got a couple options!

Scratch that.

Polling has closed (due to no votes). See the OP for the new button design.

Great opening line! Fair enough, that was why I asked. I completely understand, I'll just take the one set.

I've decided on the following button. Button artwork is (for the most part) at 100%

Excuse my ignorance......But I thought one of the perks of owning a custom set was to ensure no one can bring the same chips and get them into play. I see that this is a common practice, and couldn't help but to ask.

Valid points, and if I were hosting WSOP stake events, then it might be worthwhile for someone to buy one of my sample sets to "slip" into my game. Now, my stakes are such that if someone wants to come to the MTTD and introduce $15 worth of sample chips, to increase their chips in a $50 tourney, then well... there's little I can do to stop them. I'll wind up with extra chips at the end, and the tourney win will be tainted. It'd be pretty low class thing to do, and in the grand scheme of things, I can't imagine someone spending 100's to travel, and 100's more to play poker, all to risk tainting the event for an extra few chips, all to win a $50 tourney? Possible yes, but unlikely IMHO...

I would be perfectly content to not offer up samples. It's a bunch of work, and it's certainly not a money making venture. However, as a collector, I love the samples that others have offered up to the community, and I just don't think I'd feel right about not reciprocating. I'd certainly hate to have people stop offering samples sets in the future...

Risk assessment = worth it.

All makes sense and thanks for clarifying. By no means was a taking a shot at you or questioning you for offering samples. I am just rather new to all of this and was curious, especially because I will be doing my own custom set sometime in the future.

No surprise you went with button #1, you've always expressed more interest in dealer buttons with larger/louder/clearer/gaudy DEALER searing your eyeballs vs designs that take a more subtle approach. Personally, I think dealer button #2 is light-years better, but totally understand why you don't think so.... just a matter of personal taste. Never even saw a poll, fwiw - not that it really matters.

I'm gonna modify my order and pass on the dealer button, unless you end up ordering both - in which case I'll take a button sample of #2. No sweat either way.

No problem. Order modified (on my spreadsheet). Ya, I'm ok with subtle sometimes, but with a black/gray/red table felt, and a black/gray/red button, I wanted it to stand out.

If it's not too late, I'd like one sample set plus one button.

Thanks! Excellent looking chips!

It's certainly not too late, plenty of time. As of right now, I'm not placing my order until mid January. Haven't event given out payment instructions yet.

A little closer together... Without the chip/color info text.

You give up on the design thread?

No sir. I saw (and appreciate) your last mock and suggestions. However, I think the 100 and 5000 are pretty well set (in my mind).
