Just a warning to others to not waste their money or time, DO NOT order these chips. Condition is not what they say in the description nor photos.

Not a good look, @Spinettis Gaming
Well, they do also sell this

It says stock photo. You always gotta check w Spinettis before ordering.

I would agree, but then the description is misleading. Says you will receive a chip in similar condition.
In addition, I’ve never seen Scandia chips this played.

If they were to post similar photos to the CDIs they posted after, I wouldn’t have purchased them.

Anyways, I’m sure they will make it up. I’m just trying to make it known to others that were trying to wrap up their sets like I was.

lol don’t know if you’re being sarcastic, but not one in the entire rack + look NM like the photo…
I'm not being sarcastic. I'm surprise you were expecting near mint chips. But like the others have said, you can return them.

I don’t understand your logic. I’m paying for premium chips at a premium price, why shouldn’t I expect chips that are displayed and described as such?

I got some today, as well. Mine also look like ass. But, I got 3+ racks of chips advertised as MINTY from @PepperPaul recently that look like they belong in the trash, so my expectations were already lowered. I’ll be posting pics and showing those bad boys off elsewhere. For here, I was filling out a rack of Scandias, but they look like such shit, they don’t match any of the other 250 I own. So, just a waste. I’m not going through the hassle of paying shipping to return $200 worth of chips. They can just chalk it up to having got one over on me and that we will never do business again @Spinettis Gaming Hope the $200 was worth it. lol

If you call and ask, I’ve always found them to forthright about condition and willing to send detailed pics of the actual chips.

It’s been a while since I’ve purchased from them, but I’ve bought my fair share and found Chris to always be very accurate about condition when asked. (He would personally pull the rack and send pics).

Were they described as near mint?
Anyway, I've had more than 20 transactions with Spinettis over the years for over a thousand chips, so I'm biased. But anyway, I understand that they're a retail business and that they need to make a profit. So I wouldn't expect them to sell me NM scandia's for $4 apiece, when that's probably exactly what they're worth, because I know they need to make a profit.
That's my perspective.

The return process requiring shipping does suck but they deal in a unique hobby. I would almost expect all sales final bc theoretically returns can be easily manipulated as is. I just received some Bac chips and they came warped and accepted return/refund no questions asked.

Were they described as near mint?
Yes. A photo of a mint chip with description saying one would receive chips in similar condition. There should be no need to call upfront. If the condition does not match their stock photos at all like in this case, they should (like they did in the past) put actual photos instead.

I agree stock photos are a bad practice. I mean ca we lost on pcf with a stock photo??? No so why should they ? There a business he owns and deals in unique items.

They sent some random POS casino used chip. There nearly $5 a piece. I would expect an actually chip picture or a group of pictures of the sides of what I’m about to buy.

Jim didn’t say these 2.50s are mint. He said contaminated with some kind of bio film. Took pictures and then let everyone buy at there own risk.

I think the scadias was doing is all wrong ! I ordered some as well. They look like my sharpie starburst those maybe look better cause they all match.

There’s 2 sides. Everyone that knows and reg deals with Spinettis/providers on one, everyone else on the other.

I think it can be chalked up to experience.

I recently bought large number of live $1 chips off a couple places. Spinettis, dwightful, eBay, etc.

Not saying that @Hotus777 is wrong, however I was hoping and praying because again, buying singles in bulk - I know it’s a crapshoot. Shoutout dwightful, that beautiful man sent me like 100 straight sharp live $1s. Everyone else was a mixed bag of chips/conditions.

This’ll get sorted, I’m sure hotus can ask for shipping reimbursement as well, but there should be a PSA for all chippers when buying singles in bulk from any reseller, to either be prepared for a wide range of condition, or ask for pictures of chips they’ll be receiving before finalizing purchase.

Wow sorry that you’ve dealt with this by a member, fortunately that’s never happened to me. Maybe a few damaged chips in transit, but everyone’s been awesome!
If you call and ask, I’ve always found them to forthright about condition and willing to send detailed pics of the actual chips.
This should not be a requirement for a customer, specially when the description is pretty clear.

Exactly, description is there. Again, as a customer, it should not be our responsibility to gamble the condition or have to call in…
Yeah they are never willing to pay return shipping per my experience in 2023. They’ve done bait and switch with me too.
I don’t appreciate the bait and switch, causes a lot of work and effort on our end.
They should know no one is going to pay $4-5 for a used rack of Scandia $1s. They’ve been in the business long enough to know that. That’s the exact price people are paying for minty chips.
What else needs to be discussed here?

This was a bad look for you. Clearly the chips were incorrectly described and significantly overpriced.

At the very least, you should pay for return shipping in this case.
