Sometimes players that are eliminated in our home Tournament games will continue to sit and watch the game while it is still going on (generally towards the end of the game).

I'm the permanent Dealer for my home tournament games and I'd like to think I'm fairly good at it, but I seem to screw up from time to time and deal these "No-Stack-Players" by accident. Yes, I know, "deal to stacks, not to sitting people", but I still screw up... :confused

Anyone else have this issue?
And if so, do you use any kind of "marker" (for lack of a better word) to remind you, as the Dealer, to not deal to that spot? I ask, as I came across a this little "nugget" within @bergs picture he posted on this thread: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...-a-bigger-storage-cabinet….91929/post-2252262

Does anyone use something like this? I like it and I think it can help.

Thoughts? :)

That was a joke from @iBetOnEverything when someone busted, not really a tool for actual dealing. Like, you bust on a horrible call or bad beat, go upstairs, take 3 sake shots, punch a homeless person and stab the tires of the guy that busted you and then come back downstairs to see that in front of what used to be your considerably large stack.

Oh... I don't want it to do that... :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

No real tips, I've definitely done the same. I'd specify to keep their hands off the felt though, little bit easier to see whos playing

Just put something like a bottle in front of the eliminated players so dealer doesn’t deal cards to you when there is an Obstacle in the path

Couple thoughts…
First, have the player leave the table for say 5 hands to give you a chance to make the transition to fewer players. When the player returns, have them sit back from the table.

It always helps to have helpful players at the table. At the VFW game when a dead player gets cards at least a few people speak up right away. Stops the misdial before it happens.

Dealing is muscle memory for me so I have a tough time if I’ve been dealing to the same spot for a few hours, then the player busts and stays there. I usually always deal to that guy after the bust. Lol
