They are. All the same. There’s a device that insures that.Speaking of, curious if you able to keep the diameter of the treated chips equal/repeatable?
More than a barrel. Less than a rack.I'm curious, are you able to do a barrel at a time or are you doing each chip individually?
Ya know. I thought hard about that. And that’s why I didn’t keep quiet about it. And posting frequent updates. I think most “treated chips will be detectable.also thought about an UV mark IF TOO CLOSEI think this looks nice and I thought it looked nice when Mel first did it a while back. My view is the same as how I view removing inlays and replacing them with stickers. It looks nice if you intend on keeping them but once they leave the hands of the person reconditioning them there is a chance that they get resold as near mint when they actually are not.

Which is ok cause we’ll be dead! These look great. And I have no problem with the process, since I abhor the look of bicycle tire chips.
That said, if chips are shaved down .5mm every generation or so, in a century 36mm will be standard for vintage sets…
What is this sorcery?
These look wonderful!
Or... Is it...What is this sorcery?
Which is ok cause we’ll be dead!
There is no aborted fetal material used in this process!Think of the children.
Or at least the great-grandchildren.
Discovery: Oiled chips MUST be de-oiled for the process!
Even dawn will strip oil off really wellWell, that's easy. Just wash them with detergent. Re-oil them after surgery.
agreed! The Eldorado 1's had something on them was very stubborn!Well, that's easy. Just wash them with detergent. Re-oil them after surgery.
I have one project incoming. Well see how that goes.......When are you going to start taking commissions?
Also, I feel like your process needs a name... scalping?
