So I recently sold this item:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Casino-Mexi...-Paulson-T-H-C-hat-cane-pink-50-/272278335566

buyer receives it and asks... where are the other 49 chips? The buyer had zero feedback when he won the item... This is always a red flag. Does anyone think my listing is confusing?

To top it off, there is no selection for refund with buyer paying return shipping... When its all said and done... I'll be eating $4 for this stupid chip... its obviously not the money... its the principle. This asshat can't read and I'm paying for it. Yet another reason to click the eBay checkbox to prevent people from bidding that have less than 10 feedback.

You can't prevent them from bidding, unless eBay recently changed policy.

I'm so fucking sick of eBays bullshit. They will not even listen to your side at all. I keep waiting for another class action lawsuit to fuck them right where they deserve it...

That's disgusting. Sorry to hear it.

Just confirmed the "buyer requirement" wouldn't even have prevented this... the only option to prevent a bid is if a user has a negative feedback score... not has received negative feedback... but there overall score is negative... sheesh. This guy was just a noob that can't read and has no appreciation for what real chips cost.

Ya, I remember running into this before. They don't allow you to block buyers with zero feedback lol... lovely

I know people used to put in the descriptions.... anyone with under 10 for feedback please do not bid, or please contact me first before bidding. Not sure if eBay would allow it now, but it was common years ago

I don't think your listing is confusing at all, but there are just too many idiots out there and on eBay. My recommendation would be to make a sentence like "YOU ARE BIDDING ON ONE POKER CHIP ..." the first sentence of all your auctions. Always make it the first sentence and always use words only, never use any digits or numbers. This way you can prevent at least some idiots from bidding.

I agree. I have since done that to future listings of this chip.

The only thing that might be confusing is that it says "50 denomination" but that's really, really pushing it given the picture of the chip and all. I, for one, have given up selling anything on eBay after they got hacked and all their passwords got reset. Because I wasn't super active and ignored their scam-like "Log in to eBay and change your password now! Click here to do so" emails for 14 days or whatever they nuked my account with over 500 positive feedbacks. Between PayPal and eBay listing fees and asshole buyers it's just not worth it especially given my reluctance to give them any of my PII ever again.

I don't think its too confusing, but I didn't see anywhere that i would have been bidding on 1 chip only.

I do see a few references to "50" Denomination, and you do say "these" were discontinued. So i could definitely see where someone might have a skewed take on the listing.
But i personally understood it was 1 chip.

Dunno, THIS was pretty clear...

"I combine shipping. 50 cents each additional single chip. I have a total of 10 of these chips available. The winning bidder has the opportunity to buy additional at the winning bid amount."

50 Paulson's for only $6 (and $2 shipping )? I'll take them all (y)

The Fun Nights went for $6.99 for 100 chips. and yes someone did take the, all!!!

LOL. Yes that is pretty clear. But this is eBay.

I was just saying that if i saw this listing and skimmed through it, there might be some room for misinterpretation.
But as a buyer i always read everything someone writes in a description. This is eBay and there are 1000s of listings that look like the old "Cigarette Lighter for $1 Add"
But really its just one match.

As a seller i try to be as accurate as possible, because there are a bunch of nut jobs out there who have nothing better to do than make peoples lives miserable.

If i was the BUYER in this situation, other than i probably would have know it was one chip for sale, Once Chip arrived, you think "Oh shit where are the other 49?"
Then you go re-read the listing and you say "OH SHit!! i'm such a dumbass.. it was for 1 chip" I definitely would not start a refund/ return process for $6.

I appreciate all the responses. They basically agree with my feelings on the subject. I think the guy just skimmed the title and bid. But because he was a noob, he didn't read the description... And now feels justified in his request for a refund.

Is being an idiot justification for a refund? Reminds me of when I sold a Macbook and specifically listed it as "For parts only". Guy buys it and then two months later I get an email from Paypal saying that the buyer has started a complaint. Turns out that he is no longer an eBay member. I contact the guy through Paypal and he says he took it to a computer repair place and they told him it could not be repaired with replacing many parts. Then he asks me for a $20 refund (on a $200 sale). I tell him no way, that the ad was clear that it was for parts only. He immediately cancels the complaint and I never hear from him again. Some people always want to blame their own mistakes on others. It's kind of the way of the world in a lot of aspects.
