This past weekend i had people over to watch the UFC fights, someone in the group insisted on watching boxing matches so they brought a jailbroken firestick and wanted to set it up in my poker room. I didn't care for the idea, but they insisted and isolated themselves from the party. Being the nice host I am, I went over and helped this person connect it to my TV.

Long story short, my bird cage, holding minty chips, tipped over when we removed my TV from the wall. It didn't have the acrylic case on it, so boom goes two minty racks of chips tumbling, about 3' from the ground. About ~20-30 minty chips now have chips and dents, such a horrible feeling!

Has this happened to anyone?

Edit: this person didn't apologize about the chips. :(

Been there. I knocked a shuffle stack of dead mint green solids off of my bar onto the concrete floor four feet below. It's a good thing I had an extra barrel or else I would've been really upset.

Worst feeling! These were very hard to find Terribles secondary $25s!
I can't even find the last barrel i need for my set.

It is my worst nightmare when carrying 1,000 chips and that the bottom will cave because it’s heavy and the chips come a crashing on the cement floor walking towards my garage. o_O

Ouch... I've had a mint rack spillage but luckily they fell on carpet, so no damage suffered other than a scratch on the inlay.
Wish that was the case! I'll take damage on the inlay any day.

I have that same fear, i only have hard surface downstairs and that's exactly where it happened :(

Sorry to hear this happened and the person didn't apologize. have to hope the person just doesn't know anything about chips and assumed they would be fine, rather than being that inconsiderate (still not sure how someone doesn't at least say 'sorry bout that). Not exactly the same, but my 2yr old son snagged most of a barrel of minty Faro dunes chips from my desk and chucked them across the room into the wall/tile floor. They were out to be boxed up so had to get a different barrel to ship, luckily I had another one I could send. Learned to keep my chips further back where he can't reach I guess.
Best of luck on finding that last barrel and replacements!

I had accidentally forgotten to latch my apache case and flung about 600 chips into the street from the trunk of my car. Luckily they are cheap CC that I was bringing over to a friend's house, so no harm other than the 15 mins it took me to clean up and reorganize.

I can't even imagine doing that with minty chips worth anything.

I did have a drunk player decide he can grab his own rebuy stack because I was not in the room at that very second. He mangled a nice 500 chip case lid to where it wouldn't close correctly. You could work it shut by pressing hard. Eventually the hinges failed and the case was thrown out.

I used to have a set of Bud Jones Condado Plaza chips. A player figured out that if you press hard enough, you can pop out the coin center.

Want to see me ruin another one?? I can show you!

So he got an ear full from me.

I used to play with a guy that hosted company casino nights. He had a large set of custom TR King chips made. He watched a person walk off with a full rack of chips.

never mind my neck issues cause my hands to suddenly drop barrels onto concrete floors
I once had a closet of chip shelves collapse  (an ancient picture is somewhere)

at least this one hit a rug

EFF THAT! Once I took my chips to my brother n laws and some guy was like’ “wow these chips are cool, wonder if I can open a beer with them”.. :confused, “I will f*ck you up!!” I told him and immediately stopped the game and made an announcement about my chips and their value  :ROFLMAO:

Oh yeah....that would ruin my night. People are unbelievable and I am sorry that happened to you trying to be a nice guy.
The number of times I have to tell my own players (that have played in my game for 20 years) not to splash the pot is unreal. I am completely at the point of, respect me enough to respect my equipment or you will not be invited back.
