To whom it may concern:

I know we have mixed feelings on drama threads. Some of us love 'em, some of us say we hate them but for some reason keep viewing them, and those are the only two categories.

Accordingly, it pains me to feel compelled to post this recent spat involving another PCFer and seek counsel on how to proceed.

I thought that chips were sacred to chippers, and we all behaved and transacted in a way that was above reproach.

But last night in my home game, an unnamed chipper pocketed/stole a chip and left.

When confronted about this, they told me it was my fault - and it was because I was dealing them shit cards all night.

Cards are random; there is no sacred order.

I am heartbroken, but more so disappointed. I no longer can function today in the same way I have on previous days.

I don't know if I will ever see my chip again. Now I am one short.

What to do.

I don't know if this is serious or not but did they actually admit to taking a chip? If so, and they refuse to give it back, thats a permaban from me and if they wanted back in at any point in the future they would need to do that Yakuza thing where they offer you a finger in a napkin as penance.

Stealing a chip from a complete set of a non-casino? Sacrilegious.

Sounds like it’s his fault he will never be invited again. Shrug. That’s some petty shit. What’s he going to do if the dealer rivers him next time?

Was it a green chip?
Beat me to it! Make them find one of the remaining JCIs and eat 20 Coneys. Seems like fair punishment. That, or death.

*Editing in case this is a serious thread. This is obviously extremely unacceptable and the last thing I would expect from chippers. Stealing is already one of the worst things you can do when invited into someone's home. When it comes to something both parties know and understand more than the layman, being one-of-a-kind customized chips, it's even worse.

That's a load of bull. I say give them one opportunity to return the chip. If they don't, you need to out them. Maybe you should out them regardless.

No excuse for stealing someone's else's property.

You 100% should get your chip back. Let me know if you need a good lawyer.

Also, I don’t view this thread as drama unless people know who you are talking about.

Is this a troll thread? What is there to discuss? It's petty theft. Invite some friends to "help" you get your chip back.

This 100% happened exactly the way I described it.

I cannot presume intent of the offender.

May this be presented in a humorous light?

Possibly.

But who is really to make that determination?

I assumed it was a troll, because who would do that.
I guess we should assume the guy is a friend who is messing with you and you’ll get your chip back soon.
So it seems like all that’s left is for you to start dealing better?

He now claims it was an accident.

I am still aggrieved.
