Hey all. Curious if anybody has seen a chip like this before? It has a nice gradient, but it is not particularly heavy. Picked them up at a garage sale. Curious if anybody has any ideas to who made it, what material it might be, and what era it might be from? Assuming they recognize the chip of course. I can break one open if that might help. Thanks very much all.

And here’s a few examples of those E.M. O’Neil chips at Spinnetti’s:

They’re definitely old-school casino clay chips. That one you have looks in great condition.
They were actually in rather awful condition when I got them. Absolutely caked in dirt. I hand cleaned about 300 and that chip represents their new state. Thanks for the info!

Kind of interesting actually. I assume most people are familiar with pokerchipsonline.com . Well one of their previous owners, Jim Blanchard, and his wife, lives down the street. Unfortunately he recently passed, and his family is prepping the liquidation and sale of their home. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten more, as he probably had some fairly sought after chips, but I was really just looking for chips that I could get in a generous quantity because I was just looking for a set to play. The chips on the right are the ones that were actually made from his factory.

Yes Jim Blanchard was a pioneer and very well respected among many here. There was a recent thread about his passing with many heartfelt messages.

Yes. And I can certainly vouch on a personal level (I know nothing about the poker chip community), that he and his family were just the sweetest neighbors and he will certainly be missed by our little neighborhood community as well.
