Any doner kebab fans here? This is an an awesome copycat recipe I discovered for the slow cooker (only difference is I also add 1 tsp chili powder), we have been hooked on them lately:

We like the meat thinly sliced on wraps with pickled red onions, cucumbers, baby spinach, and tzaziki (a pain to make, but there is a great store bought option https://www.cedarsfoods.com/cucumber-garlic-tzatziki)

Got one going in the slow cooker right now (yes, it is basically just a giant meatball):

I enjoy eating that, but have never tried to make it at home. You've given me inspiration to try one day.

Same here. I had mentally set it "out of reach", but not anymore.

nice! same here, and the only places anywhere near me are still too far for convenience, so i went on the hunt online to see what i could figure out. the texture obviously isn't quite the same since it's ground lamb, but the flavor is pretty dead on. plus you can make them way healthier at home, if that's important to you - that is also why i cook it on the aluminum foil balls, so all the fat drains to the bottom and it's not just soaking it in.

One of the best places in town is Halal Bros. https://thehalalbros.com/

They aren't near me so the times when I do have it is usually at poker nights when it's down the road from the hosting home :)

I'm normally not a fan of lamb but the mixture is perfect. Add extra sauce as well as spice and it's amazing.

Would cooking it at home work in a rotisserie machine? Not sure how they keep it formed when it's semi paste like, but I suppose that's why they cook it sitting up vs sideways.

Wife asked if I wanted more wine. I said yes. These are my go to relax the day away wine because they taste great and are affordable

Italian dinner on the Greek island of Folegandros, with partly Italian and partly Greek (including lethal hot green peppers from the garden) ingredients.
Caprese salad with real tomatoes from here, Penne Arabiatissima and Spaghetti Aglio Olio Pepperoncini, fortissimo.

Nice red wine from Puglia (part of historical Magna Grecia, anyway).
There are still many Greek-speaking villages in the Salento sub-region of the Puglia region in Italy. They kept their millenia-old Greek language, but turned "Catholic" (i.e. bowed to the "Wolf of Satan", the Pope):D, during the Inquisition times.
