Correct- and it’s only the gripper count that ascends, not the platform. It feeds 1 card, then adjusts the gripper, then returns the card and says remove cards: after removing cards, it prompts to load cards, and the cycle continues.

@Buge Thanks for the reply- I ran both sizes through, then removed the spacers and used the poker sized for all the other tests. Still same result. (Pic is looking down at the shuffled side)

For the hump roller I really like the urethane rollers over the metal ones. This right here is a decent deal on eBay.

I recently bought a second DM1. It is not working, so I got it cheap and am taking on the adventure of figuring it out. I was hoping for an error message or something that would lead me to a quick answer, but that isn't the case, so hoping for some help from the group.

Having a working DM1 has helped troubleshooting a bit. When I turn it on, the fan comes on. The screen stays blank and the red button lights up. When I turn on my working DM1 the platform also does a quick up/down movement. The non-working one does not do that. I have taken the #29 cable that goes to the screen and plugged it into my working DM1 and connected to the non-working DM1 screen and the good news is both the cable and the screen on the 2nd DM1 are working. Since the screen isn't working, I don't know why it is stuck on red light. Not sure if the red light and screen not working are same issue (motherboard?) or 2 separate issues. In the Part 2 of this guide, it looks like the motherboard part number is DU1065 but when I search that I am not finding anything. I have found a PB1049 Shuffle Master motherboard on eBay but it says for DM2. Is it the same motherboard? Has anyone found the motherboard for the DM1?

Appreciate any thoughts on what to try next. Thanks.

hmm have you tried using the cable #4 from your working machine to the broken one? I would start there first. Do not put cable#4 from the broken one into the working on because if there is a short in the cable it could do the same thing it's doing to your working one.

I don't think I have any more ideas with out seeing the broken deckmate in person. You could do a complete overhaul and move the broken deckmate motherboard into your working machine and rule out if it the motherboard that's bad or if it's just one of the parts in your shuffler is.

(Given that Card in card out sensors are the same type)

I don't know what you paid for the unit you have but if you want to change both chips and all 4 boards you're looking at $8,000usd.
The main board is $2k alone IF you can find one.
I can offer to buy it off you as we have someone who will fix the boards if that's the issue but I wouldn't be able to offer much. Maybe $400 but I'd have to ask my boss what they would want to pay. How much did you pay for the unit? I might be able to tell work is a buddy and maybe get you a bit more.

It would yes to a place like a casino running a lot of the these. Gotta remember that since it's discontinued the consumables (rollers) are easy to make but the boards are whatever is out there.

I had a cracked button and started researching how to replace it. Thanks to @minedelta covering the button assembly on the OP, I was able to find out that just the lens is replaceable. The lens manufacturer, EAO, has a number of different buttons, lenses, etc and it wasn't as straightforward finding what was compatible. So I reached out to them and they shared this list:

I ordered the original ones, 84-7111-500 (Green) and 84-7111-200 (Red) from Digikey. I guess you could get creative and have different color buttons.

I also asked EAO if there were any replacement instructions and they don't have any formal documentation. They told me to use a thin plastic stick to pry the lens out. I only had a metal tool, inserted it between the lens and the bezel, and slowly pried up and around the lens. It didn't take much effort for the lens to pop out.

Unsurprisingly, they were filthy. Putting the new one in was as simple as pressing them in. To my surprise, tactility was improved drastically on both buttons (previously the green button was less clicky and more thuddy). It was clear the grime build up contributed to the loss of tactility.

It is a very inexpensive fix that doesn't require opening up the unit. Hope this helps other DM owners.

What bearings are you heating?

I already just used the heat gun to cure some glue on the other motor. It picked up heat fast and had to drop it in the freezer to cool down.

Just in general. You heat bearings to remove them when they are pressfit. This would likely need the same thing

Damn you guys are getting into these machines lol. After 4 years of having mine I’ve had zero issues. Helped out a few friends on some really basic stuff when theirs have gone down but crossing my fingers mine just keeps running.

Yeah, there are some people that are using it more than others. I replaced a step motor and encoder but that was after 30k shuffles in a 2 month span. That's crazy high usage compared to my personal one.

That is an impressive number of shuffles! I haven’t even broken 3k with mine and have had it for 2 and a half years haha
