I bought a new phone three years ago... Worked well, but battery started to suffer around 18 months. I got a new OEM battery from Samsung and replaced it with no problems and great battery life.

Some months later, Woot was closing out Samsung OEM batteries and I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a backup battery, so I bought one.

12 months after I replaced the original batter, it started to suffer. I couldn't find battery #3, so I dealt with it for a few months before replacing the phone. Of course, 2 weeks after I replaced the phone, I found the battery.

I charged the old phone with battery #3 once and it held the charge for about 4 days before draining. Now, I can't charge battery #3 (or battery #2 if I put it back in).

There are still some photos and a video that I would like to recover. Am I SOL, or does anyone have a trick?

Will the phone power on with the power cord and no battery installed?

I'm pretty sure it will. That's how most cell stores display their phones. (along with the "don't steal me" alarm cable attached)
