I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember, but it is a rare breed that can bond over games, so friends were tough to come by. After moving to Tennessee, the ability to find good, intelligent people that liked to play games was... well, lets just say there aren't a lot of them in these here parts.
Then the Poker Boom hit. As a gamer, I splurged on my first set of custom chips - spending a godless amount of money - somewhere in the ballpark of $200

. Having never played poker (outside of peanuts and pennies when I was a boy scout), I did my research on how to run a game properly. This led me to the now defunct HomePokerTourney.com.

Today, my game runs strong and I try my best to pass on the stuff I've learned to those new to hosting so future generations will be able to run great games and not have to struggle with the same mistakes I've made. I post the occasional Vegas trip repost to help to inform and to entertain.
16 years later, the friends I've met here have been incredible. I remember my first Meetup, and thinking "This is crazy, I'm going to meet some guy from the internet with a bunch of money in my pocket". Today I have traveled as far as British Columbia, Florida, and Iceland. Freaking
ICELAND! The best part, is I travel not for the poker - I get plenty of that at home - but for the guys and gals from PCF.
We are a diverse group, and there will occasionally be online "tiffs", but anyone that thinks that we are no longer a community has not felt the joy of a members baby photos, or the sorrow as a fellow member loses someone dear. We are all in this together. Some are lucky enough to attend more Meetups, some simply cannot make any, but thorough the power of the internet, we come together with a few simple clicks.
