Here. Sometimes there. But mostly not
Hey all, putting together a low stakes custom RHC set. This is clearly not the design but wanted to get people’s thoughts on the colors I’m thinking. I want to go against the grain on what colors should be what denomination to make it more customized.

I’m currently building a tournament set with wildly non traditional colours - none of my players know what standard colours should be so it really doesn’t matter for my games. Get the chips you like :cool

Mainly from my OCD side I do like the edge spots to get more complex/different as the values increase - but similar to chip colours this really shouldn’t matter and is personal preference.

I like the chips you’ve chosen - great colours. For me I would run them blue, white, pink, green - but that’s just for spot progression

Hello,

I guess you don’t care much about spot progression ?

Also, any reason to have both 25c and 50c ? In my opinion better to replace one of them by a $20 or $25.
Spot progression doesn’t bother me at all.

As for the 25/50 it’s more because of the people this set would be used with. I have a few other sets that I use but this one would be for my friends who can’t remember if a flush beats a straight ha. Like a $20-$25 buy in game.

Even more reason to not have both a 25c and a 50c. It’s just unnecessary and messy. They do know that two 25c chips equals one 50c, right?

Get a 20/25-chip instead. It’ll be useful at some point whereas a 50c never will. I would go cali and do:

25c - green
$1 - blue
$5 - yellow
$20 - pink

I get that but this is for the people that want to see lots of chips on the table. Hence me choosing a 25 and 50. Appreciate the feedback though for sure.

I'm making a tournament set with cash set colors, so do whatever the heck you want with your set. Most people only care about knowing what each chip is worth. I dont like the edge spot progression, but I like the idea of using different colors for sure.

I host 2 $20 cash games twice a week with my friends. I figured I'd offer a suggestion on denominations that are more efficient and allow for lots of chips at the table. I just dont see the point of $0.50 chips if you aren't playing $0.50/$1.

My preferred breakdown that allows lots of chips on the table for micro stakes games is

100x - 200 X $0.05. (I really like 200 nickels for one of my groups, others like 100)
200 X $0.25
200 X $1
80 X $5
20 X $20

At $20 buy ins, I give each player 34 chips so they have lots of chips to play with, they love it and have fun with it. They like to limp alot, so I added the extra nickels and never looked back.

20x nickels
20x quarters
14x dollars

Fully agree. I'd just make the 25c pink and $20 green but it's just a personal opinion.

Also taking into account I currently only have 80 of those blue chips in hand. Could I get more or switch it out? Possibly/probably. And I need to get the pinks from the casino which are snappers. Not really wanting to spend 750-1000 on making those quarters. The plan is 100 of those.
This is my thought on numbers.
300-400 green 25¢’s
100 pink $1’s
80 blue $5’s
20 yellow $20’s

Well, for a NL50 (25c - 50c) or NL25 (25c - 25c), 100 (or maybe 120) quarters are enough.
For a full ring table, you can go with 100/200/160/40 for a 500 pcs breakdown (USD 182 per player, which is 3,5 NL50 buyins) or 120/240/200/40 for a 600 pcs breakdown.

I know it's super boring but I think (using your first screenshot):
$.25 (Blue), $.50 (White), $1 (Pink), $5 (Green)

Or using your second combination:
$.25 (Blue), $.50 (Yellow), $1 (Pink), $5 (Green)

(I like your labels! :) )

At a $20 buy-in have you all tried playing .05/.10 or .10/ 25 instead of .25/ .50? Could get a lot more chips on the table if you went with a .05 and a .25 chip and support more games. Also think action is better when stakes are lower and buy in is 100+ BB.

I haven't read any of the replies. I'm sure people are saying that a .25 and a .50 aren't needed. They are correct. The base colors are fun. The spot progression feels off across the entire board. The $5 should be the quarter, the quarter should be the one, the 1 should be the five, and the .50 should be the 25.

If spot progression isn't your thing then disregard everything I said lol.

About the inlay :

Pros
The logo is very nice

Cons
The text "casino cruises" is quite difficult to read.
Same remark for the location.
The currency unit is very limit imho.

I broke it down to my cash game with the max amount of players I ever have

I meant the font in fact.
I wanted to say that, printed on a small (1" diameter inlay) piece of paper, the $ sign or cents sign might not be very readable.
