Obviously, this was the most important person in the group buy.

The fact that most of us have dealt with Oscar for years and know that he always comes through in the end means nothing and we are idiots for being patient and waiting. The huge list of life changing events be damned! That guy needed his cut cards yesterday!

Both @MatB and @Eloe2000 can attest that running these cut card group buys is a gigantic pain in the ass. It is what it is.

These aren’t fun and I don’t recommend anyone do them. I don’t recommend anyone do this unless they are retired, between job, or have an employee to do this. Only a couple people understand how much time and effort goes into these dumb little pieces of plastic. If I was more active in this community still I would do the research and spend the time to identify a printing company to work with and establish these cut cards as a stock item with the proper die cut that they could sell through their online store as standalone items with no order minimums. If someone wants to pursue this I am pretty sure I have the actual industrial die # for the part that cuts out the exact cut card shape for both bridge and poker cards. This is effectively what you would need to enable a print shop to open up a great market for themselves. Happy to help someone else with this if desired. This is what this community needs more than just another of these GBs.

@Okku congrats on the new member of the family. My best wishes to your family. Prioritize them first obviously. As far as this GB is concerned, I know things have not gone as expected and I would just keep your head straight and provide what updates you have that remain when they occur and ignore the rest. People are clamoring just because things have not gone as expected and they feel helpless, but the discourse is not productive. I would definitely recommend considering any offers to take the reshipping off your hands. If you haven’t had any legit offers I can offer to help myself (albeit I do have a week or two of work travel coming up). At this point it should be an easy hand off if you can send the printer an updated delivery address. No harm or shame in alleviating yourself of the remaining responsibilities. Thank you again for all of your time on this project just to get me a couple silly pieces of custom plastic

I'm sure you had to tweak my file around (sorry I'm a n00b) so I'm curious what I should look for and correct when I do my other designs. I'm sure others would appreciate the feedback and guidance.

Working with an underpaid employee in the processing department at a print shop can be a nightmare (communications, clarity, unwanted adjustments). If communications on their end are bad or lacking, it's also easy to make assumptions or "best guesses" on where things stand.

Cut cards will come when they come, no doubt IMO that they will. If folks want to drop-out, I'll cover your order and take the spare cards.

It’s the faith in this community my man… many of us are sticking Okku because we’ve dealt with him, know he’s going through tough times, took on a beast of a project for the greater good and it was clearly more of a headache for him then it is worth, and because of faith in him and so many that have made this community what it is, GREAT!

You’ve been made whole, move along. It’s over. We get your frustration. Luckily you got your bundles of money back and don’t need to lose sleep over this any longer.

@Okku lied? Yes. Is he a liar? No. He admitted it (didn't lie more to try and cover it up). I certainly don't think he's scamming/stealing from anyone. As he said, if he wanted to steal money, it would've been way bigger sums than are involved in this group buy.

I do feel like this card group buy will get done, eventually. But I also feel like we wouldn't be as far as we are without people pushing (or, to be fair, without @Okku acknowledging that he dropped the ball).

All that said, I agree @Okku has a few more pressing issues in his real life. I can wait on cut cards a bit longer, as long as we keep moving forward. As long as we get periodic progress updates, I am in no rush.

Trump did this. Trump did that. I for one love the US. I had hoped to bring my hockey team to compete in Buffalo in their Winter Classic Tournament. I was denied by my association for pointless reasons. But all of this kind of Fuck Canada, Fuck the States has impacted both countries and the last place I want to see it is one of the last refuges where people are people who all enjoy doing what we love. Collecting chips without nationalist bullshit.
