Current not-so-secret group buy? (2 Viewers)

Imperial Stout aged in Jameson barrels. It was a random beer pic
I have a couple of stouts and some winter warmers on tap right now
Also around December 1 we will be releasing another batch of our Baltic Porter that won a gold medal at the GABF. It’s called Snap Yo Baltics

@CraigT78 if you come in to town I have 28 of our beers on tap at my brewpub! I’ll buy you one or two or three beers!

Why hasn’t there been a bud jones v7 50mm set developed? Or a FHC set (48mm?)?

Seems like a waste to just get 39mm/43mm chips when you have access to the full GPI menu and those chips are widely available.

I like the idea of a 50mm set but there is only a couple edge spot patterns available on 50mm.

If I were a chip noob with a cash flow problem and wanted quality, one thing you could do is try to go to Vegas and cage harvest THC and desirable house mold $1s. If you can find some willing cashiers to get you racks for a 20 dollar tip, there is money to be made for sure. I don't have that problem but will still give it a good try next July. Hopefully a few houses reload the week before I get there.

Edit: ViennaMike crushed it last time he went.

In all seriousness though that is good advice for people who aren't so flush with cash. My chip collection is limited to what I have already into it, and any extra profits I can make from poker. So it was handy to get some new racks cheaply.

But nothing like the 5-9 bucks a chip things are going for now. But, alot of the general sets for sale would have been snapped up immediately and not sitting around. This market, you at least can buy alot of these sets without needed to sit in the classifieds for hours refreshing. You can get some great sets, but the AS, BTP, and SB chips are just at a higher level for even me.

I don’t understand $5-9/chip, nor the appeal of most of these “secret GB” chips, especially with a set of 700 excellent Avalon’s sitting unclaimed for well under $3/chip. But, to each their own.

I think the Avalon's look ok, but I'm just not a hot stamp guy, so for me personally I wouldn't buy them. That is a good point though.

How easy was Harrah's at the cage?...or Mandalay?

@slisk250

Harrah's was an absolute nightmare and took me so many trips just to get the rack of really average conditioned chips. You are welcome Dave  :ROFLMAO:

Mandalay was great. The male and female poker bosses helped me sort through racks and racks and I got 2 virtually mint racks. The guy did it for me whilst I was playing and hand delivered them to my seat. Tell them the Aussie guy sent you  :ROFLMAO: it worked for @wonderpuddle

Paris is reasonably easy, if you are willing to put in a lot of time.

NYNY is also doable but don't expect more than 20-40 per time in the casino. Mix of between the cage and table dealers.

I was offering lots of tips to get what I did and spent large chunks of time doing it as well

if you do a secret GB to get BJ chips you need to go play in traffic
If there hadn't been a secret buy with the intention to get BJ chips, none of the Empress Star or Aurora Star chips would have ever been created. The heart wants what the heart wants..... I don't judge.

I’m a new chipper. This market is horrendous. Anything even remotely nice is thousands of dollars. As it stands, I’ll be slowly collecting from reliable sites as long as I can because I personally don’t have that kind of disposable income and in my opinion anything over $2 per chip is fleecing the market unless what you’re selling is rare or something. It’s too much.

Sunflys. You're welcome.

And Ballys ?

@Marhault My plan exactly. I have a 1200 chip Milano set and I’ve just started the process of S-l-o-w-l-y acquiring Horseshoe Cinci chips.

I just think sometimes we need to step back and get a grip. I see some of the most beautiful chip sets imaginable and it will be $500 a rack and it blows me away. I can’t even imagine. Mostly I’m just being whiny because I’m not in that market/world and I’m envious. XD

Unfortunately, $500 per rack doesn't even come close to getting you the most beautiful chip sets out there. There are countless racks that each go for $1000+, and some rare ones that go for multiple thousands.

It's all about supply and demand. No need for anyone to "get a grip". There are plenty of great Paulson THC sets that can be had for $1 to $2 ea. It's hard to do better than that quality wise.

For budget options, I think Sunflys are pretty difficult to beat. To each their own.
