CPC Move Updates (30 Viewers)

I don't know why the secrecy exists. (It's probably for a good reason, and this reason is also a secret.)

One very good reason not to reveal these methods in the past was due to requirements of secrecy by e.g. the Nevada Gaming Commission who, in an effort to combat counterfeiting, required that the makers of gaming products like chips, and probably slot machines, roulette wheels, etc... not publicly reveal how these goods were produced. If info was leaked, a company could lose its license

Well the reason you stated at the beginning is absolutely correct

I now stand more educated. Thank you both.

Now, do I (personally) think that is a good reason??? Ehh... everyone can google for themselves if Security Through Obscurity is good or not.

But again, thank you both for unveiling to me one less secret behind manufacturing chips!

@CPC_Mike Thank you for clarifying. I understand that this is a fluid project and grace is due. This was just the first hearing that the terms had changed.

I guess 2 additional questions.

1. Do you have a projected completion of all current orders received prior to the cut off? (I know I will probably be towards the end as I am E&C and only a few orders were placed on that mold.)

2. Will all orders received prior to the cut be completed before any new orders are completed?

Thanks,

Mud

Sorry, missed these two questions.

1) November 1st for all of the Maine orders to completed in Maine. End of April for the orders being moved to Woodinville.
2) Yes. I'm really motivated to finish up the April 27th orders and start a new chapter. You'll notice that I stopped taking orders on April 28th and haven't resumed taking them yet. I'll almost assuredly be taking orders before current orders are complete but we won't be manufacturing new ones until the old ones are done.

Just wanted to give a quick update. We’re rapidly wrapping up the orders that are to be manufactured in Maine and will hopefully be closing up the Maine factory in about a month.

Things are progressing in Woodinville as the electrical is almost complete. Plumbing and boiler/chiller installation should be happening soon.

My plan is to start taking orders again once the equipment has arrived and is installed in Woodinville. I’m hoping that will be sometime in the Thanksgiving timeframe. A reminder that even once I start taking orders again we still have about 90 orders that will need to be manufactured before we start on any new orders.

Also keep in mind that I get about a handful of messages every day asking about when I’ll be taking orders, status of their order or trying to order stock sets or samples. I know, you’re thinking, “No shit Sherlock, you hardly ever give updates so everybody wants to know what’s going on!” Fair enough, although paradoxically, when I give updates I end up getting 3 times as many emails asking questions. So at the moment it’s easier just to focus on getting the company here and running again than giving in depth updates.

Thanks,

Mike

Awaiting the orders opening..

Will the minimum order still be 300?
I'm curious about these kinds of things too. Is everything going to stay exactly the same except for the location? Or are some business practices going to change too?

Seeing as you're a vendor on PCF, I would encourage you make a pinned thread on your vendor page with a FAQ section that you update as you have clarity on actual answers to common questions. Could leave the undecided ones as "TBD" to show they are both acknowledged and being worked on. This would likely save some headache, time, and could help keep you relatively organized. Add the link to your signature line here as well. Otherwise, you are going to keep getting the same (justifiable) questions and get annoyed instead of just being able to say, "refer to link".

GL. I'm sure me making this suggestion will be welcomed instead of just piss you off with more shit to consider/do  :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the update, Mike! Very exciting! Best of luck with the equipment move and remaining set up - in the homestretch!

Excited to place some orders with you in the months to come!

Love the idea.

Also, here's a suggested start:

Q: When will my order be produced?
A: We're working through orders still as we speak. Orders placed on Scrown/Lcrown/Ewing molds will be completed over the next month at the current facility. Remaining orders will be produced at the new facility, TBD exact timing but estimate an additional 4-6 weeks.

Q: Thanks, I have a scrown order. Where is that one specifically?
A: Exact dates are TBD as we work to maximize throughput with color and spot selections. But your order will be produced in the next month.

Q: Sure yeah, but I have only a solid set add on in imperial blue. Have more clarity? I have a poker night next week.
A: See above, no more definitive timeline.

Q: Hey, it's been a couple days.. any status update now?
A:

It doesn't help. People won't read to find out or use the search and will just ask.

Great idea, if it wasn't for us humans

I get asked "can you stamp an inlayed chip when murdered" about 4 times a week for the last year, when my FAQ explains in bold you can't. And when I sent them the FAQ in response, 95% of the time they would PM me after and say "So, your saying you can't stamp an inlayed chip?"

..........

So now I have two PMs instead of one with the same answered question. Yay.
