Per @Pinball thread. There seems to be some interest in a hot stamp cash set. I offered to take the lead on this as long as David O assisted (and will most likely do most of the organization, THANK YOU SIR).

I will also be the one collecting all the monies, receiving the initial shipment, and handling the re shipping of the chips.

I will accept orders from anywhere in the world. Obviously if your an overseas purchaser your re shipping fees will be more expensive. You will also have to accept responsibility for the package once it leaves my house (I haven't had any issues yet with international shipping).

As you all know David Spragg announced that Hot Stamping is now officially a go at CPC. That being said there has been a bunch of interest in producing a Hot Stamp Cash chip set. I spoke to Mr. Spragg today and he will offer us the same deal he did with the Atlantic Tourney set. If we hit 8000+ chips he will cover all dies and surcharges. In turn he will also own the rights to the dies. This has to be on the "A" Mold.

I have volunteered (with David O's help) to help get this started so here is a first post to help us get started and in the right direction for a finished product.

We will iron out cost and everything later in a GB Thread once we can all come to an agreed upon product for production. This is the hardest thing to do when you have so many ideas floating around out there. So here goes the next step to fruition.

1. Please state your interest in this thread. Please be honest because the final amount will dictate if we go to production or not. Quantity will suffice for now which will give everyone time to figure out what breakdown they would be interested in ordering.

2. We will be using .25, 1, 5, 20 (optional 25 if there is enough interest), and 100 denom's.

3. Once we agree upon a name/design we will try to see what colors we should go with. I am leaning towards a cali based color. The colors of the chips aren't as important to me as the design (within reason).

Or major obstacles will be name/design and Colors.

Remember I am only acting as a facilitator at this time so Please bear with me. Also If I leave someones input out please know it is not intentional!!!

We have a bunch of work ahead of us and our goal is 8000 + chips

Lets use this thread as an interest thread and an initial design thread. If you have an idea of how many chips you will want please post this. Again, this is just an "interest" thread. I know there could be 27 different things that could cause you to opt out of this when the time comes to make a decision .

At this point, I will take design suggestions from anyone. Whether you plan on buying a set or not.

I'm in for 500-600 chips. Maybe more if I "LOVE" the design.

Maybe something like this?

I have a hard time passing on hot stamps, so I'd probably be in for a small set (maybe 500?) assuming this is going to take a couple months to even put together. Have to bump up my discretionary savings after a spendy couple months.

If there is one thing I have learned since I joined this forum and started this hobby, it's that anything brand new from CPC or minty from Paulson will trump anything else there is to buy if you love clay chips.

With that said, we all have budgets and we all have to be very patient when it comes to investing our money in the right things.

I was contemplating going in on the Bud Jones imitation boardwalk chip group buy but since this is now an option, I will throw in here.

You can count me in for at least 300 chips. This will probably grow as time goes on. :)

The first two things we need to do is wait and see if there is even any interest for this. Then we need to come up with a theme, name, ect....

To start out. I'm going to pull a few names from the poll that led to the Atlantic tourney set http://www.pokerchipforum.com/threa...erest-design-and-name-poll.12467/#post-199019.

These are just suggestions. I'd love to hear some other, unique, and creative suggestions. We will also need someone to do a rough mock up. @David O who did the mock ups for the Atlantic set?

Great Lakes (which being from Michigan I kind of like :) )

Royal Cardroom

Jokers Club (I kind of like this one)

Gamblers Lounge

I googled some slang names http://www.badbeatpokershirts.com/pokerhandnicknames.htm

Steel Wheel Lounge

Dead Man's Room

Double Gutshot Club

The Hellroy (Q/9)

Noah's Ark (four of a kind lol).

Again, anyone sound off on a theme, name, idea, ect.....

Do we know roughly what kind of price per chip we'll be looking at?

Hmm I love A-mold hotstamps (hint: look left please), but I'm primarily wanting blanks.

First, your initial color choices are probably going to be your best. Dayglow pink, canary and charcoal are awesome (again, look left), and they look fantastic in brilliant gold or silver foil. A brilliant red, blue or even a copper would look sic on the white chip, so white would definitely be interesting.

Second, how much a chip are we talking? I'd love to piggy-back on this and get a bunch of blanks in probably each of those colors depending on the cost per chip.

My guess would be under $1.10 for non DG chips and under $1.20 for DG chips which would include shipping but not reshipping. Please understand this would be a guess and depends on CPC.

I don't have a problem with that. I'd have to check with @David Spragg to see if this would count towards our hot stamping goals.

Are people interested in a 312 spot pattern for this or are solids the only option. I am interested BUT, I will not have any funds for this till after the first of the year (am committed to the boardwalk GB, and finishing up a couple of other projects) AND would be out on a solid set as I just got a solid tourney set.

I like

Jokers Club, Gamblers Lounge, and Steel Wheel Lounge

I am probably out if the name doesn't match the mold somehow. I am not super invested so I don't mind if that happens, but I would be more interested in a name that incorporates something like:

Ace High
Aces Cracked
Ante Up
All In
etc.

Or a generic sounding name:
Affinity Poker Room / Club / etc.
Azure Casino
etc.

Probably in for solids or spots but I would prefer to pay a bit more for a level 1 spot pattern.

I don't see this being completed this year. I think you'll have plenty of time to replenish your funds. I prefer solids. I'm not opposed to level 1 spots. However, there would have to be some kind of progression. I absolutely hate cash sets that have all the same edge spot patterns. As people chime in with their interest I'll try and find out their preference for solids, spots, or if their indifferent about it. We still have a long way to go for this to get off the ground.

If we go with spots that will raise the price .35-.45 per chip.

How many chips can I list you for, tentatively of course.

That makes sense. I'm game for searching for a name that fits with the "A" mold (not a deal breaker for me if it doesn't".

With Cali colors and the blue $1, going with Azure Room or Azul Room fits the chipset and the mold and just begs for a theme. Plus it lends itself to an affectionate nickname "The Blue Room".

Not to gum up the solids effort, but 312s make for awesome hot stamped cash chips. Exhibit #1:

If we did spots it would have to be something like this for me to be on board

One reason is, solids are just cheaper (and sexy in their own right). I wouldn't be opposed to a spot based cali color cash set. However I need some type of progression in them. Chips all with the same edge spot pattern just don't do it for me.

I'm in...but I need 10 cent and 20/25 cent chips as I have very low "friendly" family games.

I played in a lot of friendly games that started as 5c/10c blinds that ended up being 5c/$1 blinds by the end of the night ;)

Just an FYI - The solid chips are 89¢ each and the Level 1 chips (312's) are $1.25 each. I believe the dayglows add another 11¢ each and then the charge for hot stamping

Lol, I can't afford so many denominations. I'm actually thinking of only getting $0.25/1/5 break down. I don't mind letting people buy in short stack or even playing .25/.25 as some casinos do it. At $1 for a chip price I don't think I want to buy so many denominations.

If we hit 8000 chips David will pay the dies and set up costs. The fee's as stated per @David O are on us.

Thanks for reminding me.
