I feel like this color combo is what I have seen many pron shots of on this forum:

Yellow fracs, Adolfos, Casas, Green $25s, Black $100s

And I think it looks awesome!

Did you really just try to somehow in any way even remotely connect these to my Adolfo’s?!

Wut. I was trying to straddle the line of being respectful about the chips while getting some conversation going and getting feedback.

But you’ve crossed the line. I’m throwing your jacket in my closet in the lake tomorrow.

(Edit to say that if a set does have peach or arc or some shade of a yellow type of a frac - ITS A FU***NG SOLID)

I think you are the only person who it doesn't make sense for.

The chips have denominations on them. We are all adults and can read numbers.

I have Vegas color sets, Cali color sets, I made things up color wise sets. After the first 38 seconds, my group knows what's what and doesn't have a problem with chip colors.

Just noticed that there is even a reservoir tip.

100% with you here. I’m mad/sad I don’t like them honestly. I hope my mind changes.

I’m all for Vegas, Cali, and made up things.

But…if tomorrow the whole world decides $1s are red and $5s are white - whether they say the denim or not - people are going to make mistakes, maybe not betting but definitely sizing up stacks and pots.

So maybe it’s just a me thing, but does go back to my original question on what people think the point of these sets are for - to be played as is, to be murdered, or a 3rd option?

I just don’t see the functionality for any of the above (and trust me I’d love it if I end up being the minority, but it appears it’s screamingly in the majority atm).

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Mayyyyybe a quarter pie can get away with it. See how 85% of that frac is the same color family (yellow).

Not some top crazy spot like 8v or trimoon or claw?

FARO DUNES IS A REAL PLACE IN PORTUGAL. AND THEY HAVE PALM TREES. BUT THEYRE EUROPEAN FAN PALMS

And I’m not an arborist so maybe I’m wrong. Granted while palmtalk.org shows many diff palm trees species in the area, this is the only indigenous. Why not use the trees that fit with the title/narrative of the chips!?

Yeahhhhhh that was a host who had some chips and needed the homie Rieguy to supplement with Adolfo’s.

And more importantly - SOLIDS.

If I show you 4-5 chips from a distance of 30 yards (or whatever where you can see the chip but not the denom), and only one of them is solid, and I ask you which is the frac - you know. Oh you KNOW.

No problem at all. I've been around long enough to know how this goes. I'll never please everyone 100%.. but what I did do this time is design these 100% for me and not what I thought everyone else would prefer. The finished product has exceeded MY expectations. If others want to come along for the ride, I'm happy to share.

short answer is that the color selection was just preference after much deliberation. I could have done a solid frac but went with the tri moon edge and tried to tone down the arc yellow chip overall by using subtle colors and not selecting overly bright spot colors.

1000% can’t please everyone. And I think everyone in the world knows - you never ever know how you feel about chips truly until you see them.

Routinely impressed these days by how nagb sales are performed, specifically the last two. Solid website, and major kudos to making things available in a meaningful way.

Something I am very much looking forward to is how these are utilized. Folks that utilize the sets as is, plug and play racks, and of course those that have their own hotstamp to utilize on them.

Looking forward to seeing the $2, red and chocolate on peach seems interesting. Now if I could just get someone to include a $3 chip for limit in a NAGB….

I asked a couple folks on this. I get it that a Blue $1 is becoming more popular in Vegas.

I think you'll find that many Vegas casinos with blue $1 chips have white $5000 chips. Bellagio, Aria, Wynn and Golden Nugget come right to mind.

Go back a while in this thread and you’ll see me arguing about the intended purpose of NAGB chips from the last time around. Over time I really came to appreciate Jeep’s work but I can’t help but thinking that hot stamp NAGB is incredibly dumb lol when some significant part of the purpose of a NAGB chip is to be relabeled. The barrier to further customization is so much higher with HS than inlays. I’m sure I’m like everyone else in having day dreamed about running my own NAGB (especially while unemployed) and I can’t imagine every making them hot stamps.

Not railing on the particular design of the chips. Just seems weird to be all excited about “new clay for the community” and at the same time it’s “explicitly chosen to be less flexible new clay”

Is it though? Hotstamps can be re-hotstamped. And milled + relabeled. Inlayed chips, on the other hand, can only be relabeled.

To my knowledge there's only one person restamping. While he's doing a fantastic job, I wouldn't design around that. Mill + relabel can come out noticeably worse than inlay and removal IMO.
