Me, historically probably one of the top 3 most vocal anti-flipper/trade bait PCFers, whose final action causing ban to occur was a joke threadcrapping on an unnecessary auction:

I would rather pay flippers prices on everything to not have to listen to impotent chippers self congratulate and circle jerk in every single thread about how they don’t flip chips.

Samples, instead of diving right in,is egregious to me. Biggest waste of time and money in history.
Gotta say I agree here. If it looks cool in pics your gunna like it in person. Build a set you like then get samples to scratch the itch
It depends on how the person and what they're buying and what their experience is.

For a member who's brand new and doesn't know the difference between "official casino weight real clay chips", china clays, and Paulsons, then definitely get samples before you pull the trigger on your first set of Milanos, so you don't end up ditching and upgrading in a month when you fall further down the rabbit hole.

Or for someone who wants to order CPCs but has never felt any in person before, get a mold sample set to figure out which mold you like the feel of and to understand they aren't the same animal as Paulsons.

But if you're going all in to get premo chips like Paulsons that can't really be upgraded from quality-wise, or you're a chipper like us who's been around the block and seen what there is to see, I totally agree, there's not much point, and you're going to love what you get.

Oversized chips should be above $1k in denomination. Else they don’t look like high dollar chips and rather make them look cheaper.

For example, oversized $100 chips from California card rooms.
This is COMPLETELY dependant on what stakes you play. I have one group where we mostly play micro stakes. (nickel / dime) 98+% of the chips on the table are $5 and under. I use a set with oversized $20 & $100 chips for these games. I just have them for fun because the hundos will never hit the table. And the $20s only rarely. It's a big deal to have a $20 in these games, so might as well use an oversized chip, right?

Exactly!! For this one we have oversized 50mm BCC GCR $20s and no higher denom because we don't need anything bigger for a $.05/$.10 game

Also @FordPickup92 has two beautiful racks of PCA secondary $25s... but every time we play that set and people hear we have $20 plaques, they request the plaques and hand the $25s back to the banker (me). Even at low stakes people want to feel like they are high Rollers at the casino. If we can give them that with a $20 denomination... then why the hell not?

Bad pic of the plaques as they are laying there and not facing the cam. But a $20 plaque can be seen here in play by @y3nreV to my left at our meet up in Ohio a year and a half ago

100% a fan of Larger $20/$25s for the home games though
