COMING SOON: Classic Tapestry Kickstarter (7 Viewers)

A lot of compliments on the cards last night especially the court card artwork. This Fournier card stock is definitely one of my favorites. Glad to have been a backer of this project.

ALERT!
For those who either missed out on the Kickstarter or who are just discovering these new “blackjack index” decks, @desjgn has updated his order listings thread to now offer these in both bridge- and poker-sized setups.

Here’s the link to his ordering thread (also available under the PCF Marketplace Vendors section)… scroll down past the Classic Flourish to find the new Classic Tapestry:

You’re welcome.

For those in the US seeking frames for their uncut sheets, consider going to a Michael’s store but use their online coupons.

Grab a frame LARGER than the sheet but containing a matted insert that is SMALLER than your sheet.

Secure your sheet IN FRONT OF THE MAT (between the mat and the glass) using small pieces of DOUBLE-SIDED, ACID-FREE craft or framing tape placed on the sheet’s BACKSIDE, in the corners and in a few spots along the edges. Make sure the sheet COVERS THE MAT OPENING and is centered/square to your liking.

This will give you a pseudo-matted look with a nice mat board border in a nice frame at a fraction of the cost of pro framing (and much better looking than a mat-less poster frame). I use this technique with a lot of oddly sized artwork I find.

Awesome!!! Dragon / Kracken Bridge Size is ordered!

Hoping this becomes my holy grail card. Loved the last ones but just a tad too sandpapery to the finish has been my only extremely minor “complaint”. If these are even just a tad smoother with the same great artwork and the blackjack index isn’t too huge (the old pips were perfect IMHO)… I’m excited.

Just got them in the mail this afternoon. Haven't played but quck look and a few shuffles.... Initial reaction is I think these have a very strong chance of being my #1 card.

One question: Is the cardstock a bit on the gray-ish side? Its fine if that's the design. Both decks the "white" is not bight white.

Otherwise the art is incredible, and I'm a sucker for great art. Pips and fonts incredible. My biggest complaint on the last Desjgn was the sandpaper texture and that is gone now but with just a bit of texture still left. It seems like it is probably about spot on. And honestly, the blackjack index is about perfect too.

Can't way to handle these a bit more and report back. Still very excited to have gotten these!

Awesome cards, just went back for 10 more setups. I may have a problem…

Loved these cards as well, the design, font, everything... very well made.. classy

But in general the group I play with felt the earlier Jumbo was better.. this is more Std vs BJ vs Jumbo preference

I got poker-size from the eBay store, but the cut was poor on the sides of the cards. Every card was a little jagged some were cut worse than others.

Ended up returning them even though I loved everything else. Surprised no one else has mentioned this issue so maybe its just the poker size or maybe I’m just OCD

I've noticed this with Fournier decks at times. Literally got a paper cut on one of their older decks. Not common though and I bet you wouldn't have the issue with another setup.

Not my experience with my 5 poker-sized setups. Smooth as a baby’s bottom. Unfortunate that you got a bad one.

Interesting, maybe I’ll give it another go.

I had ordered two setups (all 4 colors), opened 3 decks that were all cut poorly, so I didn’t open the last one and returned.

I have 10 coming from eBay. They are poker size, five of each set up. The ones I got from kickstarter were fine, will check these out and see if I spot any issues.

My bridge size had this as well, it seemed mostly on the face cards. I got the red and blue pack.

Extremely minor on my 2 decks.

I want to be clear, because so far I absolutely love these cards..... the feel is perfect, they shuffle amazing, they handle amazing, and the style is amazing and I'm keeping mine (and I can be one picky anal mofo on a lot of things in life)....there is NOTHING (at least on my decks) that I would consider marked or allows any player to have any idea which cards they might be. I will be keeping mine. I went through every single card. I actually think maybe even running my fingernails along the edges smoothed out most of them.

With that said, rolling production improvement-wise, the cuts could indeed be smoother / cleaner. But again, I would not hesitate to recommend or buy these cards. I freakin love em.

Please consider this just constructive feedback from me going forward with future production....

But I did notice this and wanted to back up Modaan's observations.

Got mine, opened two random setups. Did not see an issue. Are you talking about a little rough spot like this or something different?

This basically disappears once you handle and shuffle the cards a little bit.

Are these pics all in the poker size set ups? I have the bridge size and didn't notice it. Will check my cards later.

Huh. Is it discernible while shuffling or washing the deck on the felt? Is it enough that they catch on each other?
I didn’t shuffle, personally. I’ve seen this issue a lot from Dal Negro, Modiano, and Fournier. Once I saw the jagged edges, I just put the cards back (took some discipline)

All new cards do this. I have a black felt on my table and there are always tiny white specs from any brand of card…even still when well used. Much more with PVC vs acetate though.
What brands do you typically play? I’ve been opening a lot of packs the past 6 months from almost every brand and have seen this issue as an exception but not the rule.

Literally just opened a Fournier 2818 Titanium series pack and it has 0 issues like this.

I play with practically every brand of card made. Last night we played with brand new Modiano plastic cards I found online recently and thought of this thread. The white specs were all over the table. Very noticeable on a black felt
