If you’re not familiar with PCF’s own @desjgn (J-Design), Josh creates and makes some great plastic cards… a favorite among us here on PCF.

I personally have 8 setups of his Baroque design (in jumbo index, poker size) and my players and I like them better than Copag and Kem. Flexible and easy to shuffle, slightly textured with what I would call a matte finish so the deck doesn’t slide and spill too easily when stacked.

I’ve recently learned that he has just redesigned his cards and is now offering them as a reward in his current Kickstarter project. This new design is a Blackjack Index in both bridge and poker sized decks that come in 4 back-color options with a Tapestry design. Also, these cards will be made by Fournier!

I’ll definitely be replacing my jumbo index with these new Blackjack Index… read on for more details.

If you’re not familiar with it, Blackjack Index is just a little smaller than jumbo (but bigger than standard), allowing more room for the pips and face card artwork to be a bit bigger. For me, it’s the “just right” Goldilocks balance between being able to easily read your cards and appreciating the visual art of a beautiful playing card.

And, as I mentioned, these cards will be made by Fournier, a leader in top quality plastic playing cards— ‘nuff said!

Josh’s Kickstarter is just a bit shy of the goal with about 6 days left. Obviously I’m a backer of this new Blackjack Index project as are over 100 others (mostly PCFers).

So if you’re looking to get in on a purchase of some great cards by a great PCF member at a great price, here’s the link to his post here on the forum so you can read more about it and join us before the Friday, August 15th deadline.
