Some of these chips are no longer available but to satisfy my curiosity, I will include the 4 major clay manufacturers in the poll anyway.
What is your favorite clay chip considering: feel, sound, stacking, durability and general looks (apart from any inlay design)?

I have owned all 4 types, so it is based on experience. Not all may have handled all 4 types, but vote anyway based on your experience.

I voted Paulson but I've never had or held a TR King chip before. I hope to someday get a nice sample set of Mapes TR's. I've had ASM and BCC before too and of those two I think I preferred ASM (when it was being run by a competent chip maker that is lol).

Gah! I don't have enough experience with TR King chips, only owning a very small set of small and large crown chips so I have to go with BCC for this poll. Kinda funny though that my TMSC tourney set was inspired by the Paulson GCRs.

Voted TRK.

Feel: TRK, Paulson, BCC, ASM (We've played with all types of chips in my homegame and I think when it comes to "feel" it's more about the condition of the chips. "Slightly played in" is the winner and that's what my TRKs are. Just a notch behind are the Paulsons, then BCC and ASM.)

Sound: Paulson, TRK, BCC, ASM

Stacking: TRK&Paulson, Paulson, ASM (they're all stacking well, it's more about hight differences I don't like

Durability: Will never use them as much as this gets a criteria :D

General look: They're all nice

Fazit: The fact that the TRK we play with are around 50 years old makes them bit more special and the winner...

Pretty much this . . . I have some Paulson's, and have played with ASMs and BCCs, but never TRKs.

I voted Paulson. I have samples of Paulson, ASM, and one or two TR King chips. I do not have any BCC chips. Of the ones I have, the Paulson chips are the ones I like the most in terms of feel, sound, and weight. The ASM samples I have are nice, but all are lighter in weight than I like.

I hope the new CPC makes their chips close to 10 grams. Some of the non weighted colors ASM had were just way too light feeling

Trk ftw!

You realize the colors wouldn't be the same if they added the brass to make them heavier, right? There was a GB at CT (Royal Cardroom on the FDL mold IIRC) that had weighted DG colors....and they were....ummm....muted (that's about as kind as I can put it) to say the least. The lack of brass flakes is what makes those colors pop. So you have to pick one or the other. :)

This poll kinda makes me chuckle. Pick the best car: Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Benz, or Grand Am.....Welp, I've never driven any of the others so Grand Am must be the best. lolpolloptions

Really, you think the TR Kings are like a Grand Am? :p

In all seriousness, I'm sure many people view Paulson's in the same light as Windows on the PC...popular, but not close to being "the best". It's all subjective based on what you've been lucky enough to own or be exposed to. My vote reflects my experience so far. If I get to handle a larger number of TRK's or BCC's, I may change my mind.

I see similar polls in the motorcycle forums I participate in. Mayhem usually ensues, and it turns into a flame war for the same reasons.

Yeah I know the colors would likely be different based on what was added to them. I wish we knew what colors would be offered! I'm optimistic some new colors will be introduced along with keeping the old colors (so those that have sets already can add on). I wonder if they would consider doing the aluminum flakes like I've seen in some chips, that might not mute the colors as much?

I voted T.R. King. TRKs were just the perfect feeling chips, in my subjective opinion. Secondly, I'd have to go with Blue Chip. They seem to be the most durable real clay chip I've seen. I've never really seen a worn out BCC chip and color transfer is not an issue with them. It wasn't with my TRKs either. I've seen color transfer on Paulsons probably because of the softer formulation that gives them that nice clay feel. ASM makes fine chips, no doubt, but just not up to par with either of the other 3 in terms of the parameters set in the OP. For ME, you take the best aspects of a BCC chip combined with the best aspects of a Paulson and you've got... a TRK chip. Too bad they no longer make 'em.
Soon existing inventories of BCC chips will be exhausted and you won't be able to get those either. We're left with Paulson and CPC (ASM).

Wait a second. Whats happening to ASM? Are they being taken over or are they joining up with another company?

I voted BCC. However I do so by saying I prefer the original Pauslon chips to all of the choices. (Pre Gaming Partners International
Corporation (GPIC).

I think it's a matter of taste ...
I recently purchased a great set of Paulson (casino). before that I had only ASM ...
When I first saw Paulson ... my thoughts were "Oh, yes, it is very steep chips ... Colors, sound!"
The only thing that annoys me in them, is the transfer of colors ...
But recently, I again took in game of ASM and their newly discovered for myself!
Probably, it's addictive. Good becomes commonplace and it seems that there are even better chips ....
They are all gorgeous. I will definitely buy another set and will change them from time to time , enjoying advantage of all !

i also vote for paulson , clay chips.
had also a nevada jacks set but the difference is quit big
