Casino Montreux tribute (1 Viewer)

Not a fan of the latest changes, but 57 > 58, primarily because I don't care for 1XX spots at all, save for the spotted Flamingo $1's. Switch it to a 1/4 pie and I would probably like 58 more than 57.

That hopefully you lock this one down before you change your mind again and scratch this one :sneaky:

I talked to David at CPC and he said once I give him a design, there won't be any going back as they have to prepare the materials and inlay etc well in advance of it hitting the mold, so once I get one I'm happy with I'll ship it to David and I won't be able to change it.

After looking at the 614 with black edges, it looks off with the black inlay. Like the inlay is part of the edges. Doubt I'll change the inlay from black, but in case I do...

Maybe this, but I'd like to use the 2D14 on the quarter and the 3D14 on the $5, therefore I'd need something for my $1 that isn't a light and dark edged 614 but is still within the 1/4" edge realm. Perhaps a 414 of some sort.

Maybe 414 but rotated to form an X. Or there is always the 414A. Maybe DG peacock base with retro blue or imp blue spots if you are thinking of going DG base

This is exactly what I was thinking, but with the charcoal NCV.

I hear ya, since it's a NCV and not a hundred it should probably stay charcoal, in the event I do add on with hundos. I like the look of the black and DG Tiger, but really black and anything look good.

Somethin like this might work.

Then again, any excuse to use the 614 black. Bit of a darker but colored inlay. D14 then single 14 then A14.

I've centered the inlay so there's equal space between the top of the inlay and the hotel, as there is between the bottom of the inlay and the bottom of the denom.

414 seems like the go-to option, in that case. Here's three different lineups that could work. Of the three, the middle is my least favorite.

What I want seems to change often.

None of those $1s really do it for me but the X with 414 white is my fav.

I think I like the set in post #69. D14, D14, single 14, single 14. Each one of the chips look great to me, but then you have the $5 (which I really like the look of and think would be amazing as a $5) which doesn't have dual color edges. I think it could still work. My real goal I guess, is for each chip to look great on their own and be easily identifiable from the others. If they don't fit the typical progression, I'm not incredibly concerned unless it effects the play-ability. The set in post 69 still has a progression but it deviates from it briefly with the $5 single color edges but having the 8A14 as the $25 makes the $5 614 fit a bit better.

I know I've been asking for help and disregarding some of it, then changing my mind waaay to often, but that's how my mind works I guess. One day something looks great, another day it's poo.

I really do appreciate everyone's help here and thanks for putting up with me. Let's see if I change my mind about post 69.

Updated the inlay colors a bit and thinking I prefer a black ncv.

As a stand-alone chip, the $5 works. In context with the set, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It really glared at me when I first saw it. I haven't looked at it in a couple weeks, and it still stares me in the face. Obviously you can't account for personal preference, but for my money, I don't use the chip as is. That being said, I don't think a huge change is necessary. Consider changing three of the spots to charcoal. That would still give you dual spot colors, offers basically the same effect, and gives a much more consistent feel to the set.

As for continuously changing your mind...well, for the amount of money these things cost and the time it takes to get them produced and shipped to your door, you want to be happy with them. I completely get that. At some point, though, you gotta anchor something in the ground, even if it's just a chip or two.

I think you're right. The $5 works but needs other dual colors to support it. The tri colored chips before it throws everything off.

I've emailed David begging to update the design one last time.

He okay'd the changes. What a guy.

I'm much happier with these even though the yellow quarter pie has been done before (black cat tourney?), the blue / white 414 has been done a few times before and the 614 retro lav / black has been close to done before (814 in the Bordeaux set). These have a lot nicer progression than previous and I really like the black inlay a lot more than the off color ones.

Thank frig he let me change it.

If I have second thoughts about this set again, will someone shoot me in the knees?

Wasn't expecting these to be made till Sept. Got a notice that they're at the post office today! Of course the notice came with a $300 duty/customs fee. :|

I'm picking them up after work. Have never been so excited to give away $300.

Sorry to come back to and old post, but I thought you may want to see a real Montreux Casino chip.
Note that is not Euros as we do not use Euros in Switzerland.
