For one table? Too many quarters and $1s and not enough $5s. For two tables? Nowhere near enough $5s.
  • MAX quarters you need for one table is 120. Many would argue that even that is too many. I give a barrel to each of the first 5-6 players, then the rest just get a barrel of $1s and 4 $5s. (I do $40 buy ins for quarter games)
  • 200 $1s per table is plenty. It's a workhorse, yes. But how many times do you bet more than 3 of them at a time? Give each player a barrel at buy in. Then rebuys are all in $5s.
  • Even for small stakes, 300 $5s is better than 200 for a long night's game that might get splashy. I would be uncomfortable with a bank that is not at least double the size of my average game.
  • Even for small stakes games, there is no reason not to have a couple of barrels of $20s or $25s in reserve. Especially if you only have 200 $5s.
this is why you should always read any post all the way through LOL yeah if you are going to use alot of $5s might as well through a barrel of $25s in there

That’s good feedback! I’d originally just winged the numbers as similar to a breakdown for a $1/2 cash game where people like 300-400 $5 chips (the workhorse). That’s interesting to hear that for $0.25/$0.25 the culture is different

Yeah, $1/2 and $1/3 games play differently. $100 bets are often a made with a full barrel of $5s. It's not unusual in a cardroom where I play for there to be 10 racks or more of $5s on the table. But when is the last time you saw someone push out a barrel of $1s for a $20 bet? I don't think I've ever seen that.

Also, having a lot of $5s from the start makes it a lot easier to move up from 25c/25c to $1/1 or $1/2.

More 25¢ are good if you're not boring. I mean if you play games other than just NLHE.

I think for me, I like the idea of 120 $0.25. That way if the common preflop raise Is 3x to $0.75, I’d be making change for people as minimal as possible without it being a waste

Wow, holy I have been busy and missed so much in the tread. Little update, just have bene getting guys together making sure we are going to have good commitment and so on before I pull the trigger on a set. I think I am for sure going to end up doing a Hustler tribute, as watching those live streams all the time when I'm doing work or other stuff on the computer is what has really gotten me into things. Just need to decide for sure on a breakdown/stakes, then get the design made and hop in a group buy from Justin!

Thanks all for any input!!

Go with the high stakes colors. That way more fun chips colors

Justin will not do designs of casinos that are currently in business.

This was the plan, not sure 100% on other chips but whatever is the most common is for sure going to use the $100 design, my personal favourite from that set. Just gotta work on getting a designer and so on once the money is around for a set order.

Going to have to look into that, had been messaging with him and mentioned the hustler tribute idea and he never said anything. Appreciate the looking out!

Well, they did but on recent streams I've seen them using the old chips again, so I am not really sure of what the situation is.
Replays and what not.
Purple quarter
White 1
Silver or green 5
Brown 20/25 or do the plaque.

I think a better break down would be

5c x 100
25c x 100
1 x 200
5 x 100
20 x 20

another ideal would be to make the blinds .25c / 25c and then do away with the 5c chip and your break down looks like

25 x 100
1 x 200
5 x 100
20 x 20

This! I would eliminate the 5c and roll with the 25c/25c option here. Small change might be to go with (5 x 80) so you have 3 full racks of chips or (5 x 180) if the game gets a like deeper and you have 4 full racks of chips.
