Good question. I have always hosted tournaments, but I know a few guys who would play cash with me. Need to ease into it, I think.

Wow, all of these sets are amazing. I've been out of the chip game for a while, and it's interesting to see that someone came up with the idea to put a mold on a ceramic chip. If you someone didn't mention that these were ceramics, I would have assumed these were clays based on the photos.

They are different blanks.
The ones produced by @SUN-FLY Poker Chips do have top noch edge alignement and on my 2 PolyClay sets I don't have one single spinner.
With the Alibaba seller, edge alignement was far from perfect and I had spinners.
Another difference is that SF ones have more rounded and glossy edge where the Alibaba ones are more square and matte.

Cheers. I forgot that you actually have done the real comparison. Although the edge alignment is an issue of poor execution, not specific to to the blank chips.

Indeed it's not related to the types of blanks. You're right.
Alibaba ones are very nice for the price tag. But from my end I prefered to pay a little bit more and have a set without flaws.
And for some, matte and square edge are a plus. So an argument in favour of Alibaba. Myself I preferred the more rounded ones from SF. It's really a matter of preference in the end.
Definitely. I have no doubt the Sunflys are better. I would point anyone in the direction of SunFly for better quality. These are just under my "impulse price" threshold. Otherwise I wouldn't have made a ceramic set most likely.
I am a poor boy from a poor family, so it is my "poor boy price" for me.

Just curious - what is the price difference? Are we talking 2-3x?
I believe that is correct. The Alibaba cards mold chips in the initial group buy were about .28each landed in the US, although they have since gone up and are about .31each. Another group just used a different supplier and I believe got the price back down again to around .28each landed.

SF ones are 48c / each. With shipping and taxes it's +/- 70-75c delivered in Europe.
Alibaba ones were +/- 40c delivered with taxes in Europe.
So for me in Europe it's more or less a 2 to 1 price difference.

In fact for me too. The initial Alibaba set was an impulse buy just because it was cheap.
But I really liked how my design turned, and then wanted to fix few flaws that tilted me little bit.
