I currently have seven sets that can handle at least 30 tournament players:

-- Prestige 727, 3000 chips, 9 denoms T1-T25k (12g printed plastics)
-- 20th Century, 2900 chips, 9 denoms 5c-$5000 (Paulson THC mold, 700 re-labeled add-ons)
-- Grand Championship of Poker (GCOP), 2600 chips, 10 denoms T5-T500k (Blue Chip TFP mold)
-- Empress Star, 1600 chips, 7 denoms T5-T25k (Paulson THC mold)
-- Empress Star (818-spot), 1400 chips, 7 denoms T25-T100k (Paulson THC mold)
-- Aurora Star, 1400 chips, 7 denoms T5-T25k, (Paulson THC mold, hot-stamps)
-- Star Cruises, 1400 chips, 6 denoms T25-T25k (Paulson 43mm IHC mold, relabeled)

Plus several other sets that can cover two tables.
Whatever…that’s cool, I guess.

I use plastic chips for tournaments (2-3-4/year) and clay chips for cash games (20-25/year).

These two Matsui sets can for different tournament structures - over 2000 chips each (no photo on table at hand):

Gorgeous! Thats the plan in my head: large cheap easy to read customs because few in the tournament will care much about them lol
My thinking is thus: for this big (well big for me) 3 table charity thing that is once or twice a year with lots of newbies and drunks that don't care about chips (or cards or hell even poker) and the possibility is high for mishandling and loss, go with the cheap, but nice, chips. For my usual bill of fare which is one table the nice clay chips come out.

I like that. Messed up and got some hotstamps in my hand, that's the reach goal. Thanks for your input, our thinking is aligned.

I have 4 tourney sets, all have the pretty much the following 1,400 chip breakdown:

$25 - 500
$100 - 500
$500 - 200
$1k - 150
$5k - 50

That comes out to roughly $500k in bank when the high denom chips are in play. We play with $5k starting stack and start blinds start at $25/$50.

Our average field is 24 players but every once in a while we get up to 30 or 32. My group likes have decent starting stack sizes so for the 30 man field I go with the following:

$25 - 16
$100 - 16
$500 - 4
$1k - 1

If I squeeze it down I can get 40 players with the following starting stacks.

$25 - 12
$100 - 12
$500 - 5
$1k - 1

Can handle 25 at a starting stack of:
8-8-6-6-2 for 20k

I figure have plenty of 500 to give some a breakdown of :
4-4-8-6-2

I do want to hold a 3 table tournament this summer.. right now usually it's 2 tables

I have been trying to think of something funny for over a day now and have been striking out.

Here is what I came up with:

Of course, my chips can handle anything
Given the right motivation I think my chips can handle this
My chips are stressed at the moment. I don't think they can handle this.

Any tourney set I build starts with 4 tables as the base chip count. I am working on a set potential for 10 tables right now. So I have 4 sets that could cover at least 4 tables

10 tables, my God. Whats the breakdown? Do you run that for work?

I have a 60 tournament setup, desert palms BCC could combine with my hotstamped desert palms set to add on another 25

I largest game I have personally only ever run was a 6 table game once but several 3-4 table games. Seating for the 6 table game was done with a randomized name list program that assigned seats. I had used a deck of cards A-10 and suits to mark table seats prior. In future if I get +4 tables going i will print some laminated cards....or if it becomes a regular i could relabel some of the "1" value chips to seating chips. Currently i am knowhere close but the goal is charity fundraiser 50/50 games. It is part goal, affordability, capability that I want. I am still working on the last few but am over 4k chips deep in 36mm majestic stars, currently I am almost there, just 70 t25 chips shy of a 100 player set t5000 starting stack with 1-2 rebuys or 1 rebuy/add on per player.
