Bond, James Bond. Plaques now found!!! (1 Viewer)

Non Bond but still, classy chips and jetons. 100 times better than the generic rubbish they use nowadays.
I've worn my thumbs away and gone through gloves, toothbrushes, towels, cloths, the lot, cleaning them but it's worth it.
Managing to save a few of the better things though too so, mainly good.
Hope you enjoy the pictures even though not Bond connected just associated. Still nice to see quality stuff I hope.

I'm now wondering (as somebody else thinks it too) if the slightly bluey one next to the guy's left hand holding the £10 next to dealer is the £5. Hopefully a clean sweep on the low value plaques making a set of 5. Plenty of £5s and £10s that should clean up well but sadly lacking the other 3 due to differences in chemical make up of them I think.
The £50s the colours have run and warped and a lot are ruined. The £100s are "slimy" and again, badly warped including 1 that when washed became totally plyable, weird. The £500s have a "salty looking" dust or crust on them so all different types of deterioration but not all so, fingers crossed a few sets get saved.

What a shame that something of such importance would be left to rot!

The jetons and plaques (obv) steal the show, but that 25 pound chip is dead sexy! Are you going to be able to make a playable set out of those Greek Keys?

Also what is that last pic? Is it a paper weight or something?

Yes it is a paperweight, dinky little thing, classy too.
As to the LGK chips, it looks like a good few are cleaning up okay so there may well be a set or 2 made up. Obviously more work may be needed to clean them properly but just getting the crud and dust etc off as not got the time to do it properly and oil them so I'll leave that up to any buyers if/when for sale.
And you should see the purple £25 and green £100, very striking. Only ever seen a handful and all notched, now I know why. Plenty with inlays fallen off so 3rd grade may be given as extras to show how put together. Lots of the £100s for some reason.
Glad you're enjoying the photos anyway, have a good one.

Very true and thanks.
Testing the water and letting the casino chip/plaque collectors have first crack, seemed only fair as haven't been on here long. Wanted to start the ball rolling and will in a couple of weeks. Again thanks for the comment.

It will have slight amendments as work in progress.
Main one being my postage costs were a mistake (or price on 1 set of 8), I meant to put the price up to cover but didn't. I'm just so confused I'm all over the place.
Also, larger lots, I'd prefer if I packed them and the buyer either collected (which would be brilliant but doubtful) or arranged pick up/delivery at their cost and with my responsibility for them ending when picked up, but I'm going ahead of myself. I will post that deal (or variation of) within the week as I don't really expect large quantities to go to people from the board.
Anybody who has an interest, please feel free to email me before the "rush" as it will take a while still.

This is a very cool find. Congrats! Can we have the link to the chipboard post while we wait? :)

Sorry, still not caught up with everything but I will do more this coming week.

I will amend this one as I messed up on the Chip Board one but now can't get in to explain so............
Sample set should be $120 including postage as I confused myself by thinking there were 7 in the set making $12 x 7 plus postage $100 (plus a bonus and probably another freebie of some description). I'm happy to stick by my mess up but would hope that people are happy to either paypal as a gift or (if trust issues, which I don't have a problem with) pay the charges (or we split them). I think that's fair.
Feedback on prices (or anything else connected to this stuff) would be appreciated as long as not too abusive.
I'm still finding my feet and trying to find the right balance between being greedy (not something I have ever been accused of), good value (so all are happy) and giving them away, just annoying.
I have talked more than in my whole life just explaining about these so may have confused people (myself included) so if any questions please drop me a line and I will try to answer as many as I can.
Thanks for the interest and hope there are some takers for the deals I will be offering over the next few weeks.

Almost there but boy is the grading and pricing difficult.
I want as many people as possible to have the chance to own a set but still want to try to keep some exclusivity (numbered or low sets if I have for instance) so there are many tiers which will need explaining when listed.
There will even be playable sets of the £5s and £10s by the look of it as long as they clean up properly when I re-clean every one that leaves my sight (and house) to a hopefully happy buyer. Then photos to make sure all is good and then posted, sounds easy, haha nope. Bye bye life for a little while at least, perhaps.
As I said, any feedback, comments or advice....please feel free as long as not too nasty (I've had a few in my time).
Thanks for the continued interest, if any and hope to catch up with my tail sooner rather than later. I'm all over the place. As a friend said (and very apt) I'm like a dog with 2 willies! And I think I almost feel like one would feel, I imagine. Stupid I know but hey.....................

Full set of LGK at last, enjoy (hopefully).
They look really classy and most are in beautiful condition although there are quite a few 25ps and 50ps with actual wear!! Hotstamps have faded or turned silver on those and are still a little dirty too. These will be available if wanted at a discounted rate as another option for a playable set maybe? A lot of the £100s inlays have dropped out but I bet they'd glue back in easily enough if anybody is interested. There are so many different "strings to the bow" in this lot.................
Any questions please feel free to beat the rush and send me a message, so far I'm almost keeping up with them all.
Tomorrow I will start packing and posting I hope (after pictures, emails etc etc). The missus is a smidgen peeved to say the least but hey, what do you do?

Yes I know, the £1 and £5 are "seconds" and will not be sold in with the best sets.
The plaques shown are some of the not so good ones to help show off the other ones which are here.
Prices to follow soon hopefully.
Thanks for keeping up (unlike me and if you actually are).

Even the not so good ones are nice.

I’d love a full playable set of the Greek key chips but no budget! Damn collectors lol

When the dust settles and I see which ones are not up to top grade I will try to put some sets together at a lower price (offhand I'm thinking $5 a pop/chip but let's see how the rest go first as it's all work in progress). 1 possible 2nd's set (wear, dirt or tiny nicks etc) is already in the works (and possibly sold) so here's hoping I can scrape together another one.
No complaints so far which is great, just how I like it.
Hope this gives you a little hope.
Have a great weekend.

I saw your post at thechipboard. You should post that classified here as well. Tons of people here will never even visit the chipboard, and with good reasons.
Just listed my first classified on here so let's see how it goes.............
I don't expect the Chip Boarders to but large sets in the same way I don't really expect people on here to buy single sets but hey, you never know. Maybe a couple will buy to see the actual quality of these and may buy a larger set in the near future or jsu want a beautiful set to frame as they'd look well good I reckon. Not as good as the plaques obviously but I don't think anything else I have would look as impressive as those beauties.
Hope some of you at bother to read my fist offering but no worries if not, I#ll just keep them all, there all mine hahaha. Sorry that keeps happening.

FDLMold, thanks for the advice but my pathetic attempt at that has just crashed and burned so I give up and am leaving with my tails between my legs as I hate getting abuse for no reason other that to satisfy some sick people's cruel streaks. I could go to town, I really could but I'm worn out from it now and just want to be left alone. Yes everybody, look at the snowflake running away. I read the "rules" on here, what a joke. Serves me right I know but hey.............
Thanks to the odd one or two on here that did actually help. Hope you all have an enjoyable existence. The people who I have messages from please don't worry as I hate loose ends and I will be back in touch with most of you when I get over my Drama Queen hissy fit. It's my own fault. And please, nobody compound it by starting on me here or I really will just blow and will regret it so I concede defeat, you win, no more. I give up, please just leave me alone. Thank you.

No clue what happened here today, but sad to see you go. Was looking forward to your sales threads. I enjoyed reading your walls of text, and don't know why people who didn't like it would even care, can't they just skip the thread and read something else... Don't let them annoy you

My sentiments exactly so thank you for the message, I appreciate it. It's my own fault, my excitement is still at a high (well, it was) so I probably deserved all I got. I think we will be in contact again when all sorted so..............If you can handle my style of "writing" (for want of a better word), I look forward to answering any questions I haven;t already given an answer too. As you know, I have tried to be as concise as possible but too much information is bad for me it seems. Thanks again, have a great day.

I don’t really understand why you’re leaving, nobody wins if you leave. I’ll be honest, following your posts was difficult, but the pictures were pretty cool and I was looking forward to seeing what came of this. It seems there’s a lot of history with these plaques, and it’s fantastic that you could save them from rotting away.

There’s no reason for you to leave, stay and share pictures and eventually sell some of the pieces. And don’t let stuff get to you, shrug it off and move on.

You need to remember everyone works all day. We are on our phones when we have a split second to refresh pcf and see what's new before getting back to our task. Your style of writing is fine for history of chip thread, but for a sales thread... No. Just take great pics, put price and shipping and let the scrub donkey degens swarm in and scoop them up. No reason to leave PCF bc a few of us hurt your feelings. We beat each other up everyday all day. It's all in love, take care sir.

Thanks but too snowflakey, it's my own fault. I seem to attract them. I usually do rise above or give as good (if better) than I get but I folded as holding them would have been too much and I'd still be wasting my energy. I'll not totally go, I'll keep the interested ones up to date . Sorry less words more pictures, Bye.
