Board Gamers, show us your loot! (3 Viewers)

The other game we've been playing a lot of lately this past year is Viticulture for that same reason. Complex enough to scratch the itch, but doesn't draw itself out for way too long.

Viticulture is a good one. But IMO, the Tuscany expansion board is immeasurably superior to the original, and I prefer to play with the Rhine Valley cards to tamp down the effect of the many BS cards in the base set. I find that combination does the best job of focusing on the core mechanics.

Super excited. FINALLY got my hands on Xia and its expansion! Looking forward to space adventures!

Finally got Hegemony to the table, but just with 2 players (Capitalists and Working Class). Which I think was good to get a handle on the game. Despite what it looks like, the game isn't really that complex. If you understand economics and politics at all, it makes a lot of sense.

Capitalists want to make profit after paying expenses.

Working Class are just trying to cover their needs and sscore points for buying more than just subsistence.

Middle class does a bit of both.

And the State is trying to make everyone happy while trying to achieve certain goals each round.

3 recent recommendations from my collection, for any interested to expand their experience.

Dune Imperium Uprising - A very addictive tactical game, involving smart deck building, worker placement, resource managment, battles with surprise swings due to hidden cards, and amazing Dune the movies art and theme. And Sandworms!

Nemesis - for any Alien movie lovers out there, this is the "Alien the board game" as should have been. Suspensful, hanging on a thread, face-huggers out to get you, while you try to work with your fellow astronauts - while each one of them is plotting to kill you while they escape the ship. Dramatic and highly memorable.

Fate of the Fellowship - a cooporative game beating the armies of Sauron, where each player controls two distinct characters on separate areas of the map. created by the highly acclaimed creator of Pandemic. I still have it shrinkwrapped, waiting to be played!
